Female Student #1 Interview with Housing Staff from January 30, 2015
You, [Female Student #1], indicated that on the date in question, you had just gotten back into town from winter break and were
excited to go out. You indicated that someone else on the floor knew of a party at the Sigma Chi fraternity and that a group of about
ten floor mates went together to the party. Once at the party, there was music, it was very dark, there was lots of alcohol, and you
took pulls from a Burnetts bottle that was being shared around the room. You admitted that you lost count of what you were
drinking and we discussed how difficult it would be to track drinks when consuming in this manner. You also admitted that you had
been to frat parties on a number of occasions in the fall semester and drank in a similar environment, but never had consumed so
much alcohol before. You indicated that most of your floor mates decided to leave around the same time and this is when you found
[Male Student #1] and [Female Student #2] who assisted you in walking home. You shared that when UWPD contacted you on
Lake St., you could hardly stand up and vomited several times. UWPD reports a PBT of .21, which is extremely concerning. You
shared that you remember talking with UWPD, but at some point, you blacked out and do not recall the rest of the evening until you
woke up at the detox facility wearing different clothes
Male Student #1 Interview with Housing Staff from January 30, 2015
You, [Male Student #1], indicated that you had attended a party at the fraternity Sigma Chi with a large group of residents from your
floor. You shared that you were suffering from a sinus infection and taking antibiotics at the time so that you chose not to drink that
night, but went along with the group to spend time together after returning from break. Once at the fraternity, you found a huge
party with tons of people packed into one large room. You indicated that you saw bottles of Burnett's sitting out and being passed
around. One of your floormates, [Female Student #1], approached you at the party and asked you to help make sure that she and
her roommate got home safely. You remained at the party for a while and then left with [Female Student #1] and another floor mate.
You noticed at this point that [Female Student #1]'s roommate was fine and did not need help. The whole group of floor mates left
the frat around 11:30pm. [Female Student #1] was walking with her arms around you and another floor mate. You indicated that at
this point, she seemed drunk but coherent and you thought that you could get her safely back to Sellery. You shared that [Female
Student #1]'s condition deteriorated on the walk home and you were finally stopped by UWPD on Lake St. where [Female Student
#1] was ultimately taken into custody. You maintain that you were not drinking and the police report indicates that you were helpful
and were not cited. I do appreciate that you were trying to be responsible and help another Badger get home safely. We further
discussed signs to look for in the future to help indicate if someone who is drunk needs assistance from UWPD
