Percentages of the male and female population who smoke.

The graph illustrates a down ward trend in the proportion of women and men who
smoke in the UK during the period between 1975 and 2004/05. We can see from
the chart there are two durations: from 1974 to 1992 and from 1993 to 2004/05.
From 1974 to 1992, the percentages of the male and female smokers plunged. In
this duration, the percentages of males dropped from 53% in 1974 to 29% in 1992.
With females, the percentages drop from 43% in 1974 to 28% in 1993. During the
period from 1993 to 2004/05, there were some different. The percentages of the
male and female smokers firstly fluctuated and then slightly decreased. From 1993,
the percentages of male smoker changed from 28 % to 26 % in 2004/05, with the
female smokers, the percentages changed from 27 % to 23 %. From what show on
the graph, the percentages of the male and female smokers will continue to drop
gradually or still remain the same.
