The members of the Ad Hoc Investigatory Committee are:
Dr. Sheila Embleton, FRSC, Distinguished Research Professor of Linguistics,
Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, Faculty of Liberal Arts &
Professional Studies, York University; and,
Professor Eric Tucker, Osgoode Hall Law School, and Distinguished Scholar in
Residence, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University.

The Committee will be operating under CAUT Procedures in Academic Freedom Cases
which I have enclosed with this letter. The operative section for ad hoc investigatory
committees is Section 6.
The Committee will be contacting you (or your designate if you so advise) in due course to
gather relevant documentation from the University and to arrange to meet with appropriate
University officials so that it can get a full and fair understanding of the facts.
