Assessment
Students in this course will be assessed for gains in language arts proficiency in the
following ways:
Classroom Assessment
Students will be assessed formatively as part of classroom instruction. Evidence of
student progress will be gathered through writing samples, group discussions,
clicker evaluations, individual and group presentations, homework assignments, and
paper and pencil assessments.
Program Assessment
Students will be assessed with the GAIN for placement and progress in this course.
Placement in this course requires an EFL of 1 or 2. Progress to LA 30 or above will
require students to advance to an EFL of 3 or above.
