Knowledge Goals
1.) Build relationships with 4-year public schools to aid students in their transfer
process
a) Observe and network during Completion Week along with my field
supervisor
b) Discuss these connections and how they are made with my field
supervisor
c) Read agency material on the current relationships they have with 4-year
public colleges
Assessment: Meet with field supervisor immediately after Completion
Week and de-brief about what I have learned. Receive direct feedback on
networking which will allow me to reflect on my strengths of building relationships
and how this could help the Transfer Success Center. Recruit more attendees for
Transfer Week then the year before. (30+)
2.) Increase familiarity of ways to support transfer students
a) Work with students with different transfer needs
b) Shadow peer mentors in one-on-one sessions with transfer students
c) Attend events that discuss the transfer process-transfer sessions and
campus events
Assessment: Meet with field supervisor once a week to go over any
challenges faced when working with transfer students. Meet with fellow peer
mentors to discuss the quality and benefits of a one-on-one. Apply knowledge
gained from events and apply to student services-receive feedback via student D2L
Quiz results.
