Galloway... 27 February was the day after you came bottom practice manager
Of the poll with just 13 votes out of almost 220 in the Bradford welisan Butler
West Labour Party selection. You were a big loser then and the
kind of way that you have embarked upon this campaign has
already ensured you are going to be a big loser again. You have
only a passing acquaintance with the truth. You claimed, and

‘This firm is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority SRA No. 55777gullible journalists believed you, that you were subjected to a forced marriage at the
age of 15. But you were not 15 you were 16 and half. | have your Nikkah for .....

Speaker: _ Mr Galloway, | have the chair, | will take this, | will call an end to these
proceedings.....1 do not want to hear... | will take this. We will talk about issues, so
‘Mr Galloway, you made your point, can we please stick to the issues...
Galloway: You allowed 3 personal attacks on me by my new Labour opponent. |
am making this
Speaker: Mr Galloway, | was going to come back to that. Can | please ask that
emotions come down for a white, and I think Mr Galloway will you please continue.
Galloway : | will continue, no one will ever stop me from continuing. The issue is
that my opponent is a liar. She lied about me, she lied about her age, she slandered
this community for her own selfish ends, she played into every stereotype, every
stereotype...
Speaker: — There is 15 seconds before we finish
Galloway: Well, are you sure, have you given me injury time for your interruptions.
Speaker: — ....please end now. | have given you another 20 seconds. Can we
please...., | need to keep time.
Galloway: have set politics alight in Bradford, that's why the media are here. We
tured Bradford politics upside down, we've shaken the complacency of Labour,
which is why they hate us so much. They have betrayed the people here in Bradford
and elsewhere in the country. We are the real Labour Party, and that is why they
hate us.
We set out the facts as we understand them. Our client was born on 13th November 1973.
and was married on 25th December 1988. Our client was then aged 15 years and 1 month.
As you will immediately appreciate, the very serious allegation that our client is a liar, in
addition to potential proceedings for defamation for Mr Galloway's slanderous comments,
amounts also to a clear breach of s.106 of the Representation of the People Act 1983
which states:-
False statements as to candidates
(1) Aperson who, or any director of any body or association corporate which—
(2) before or during an election,() for the purpose of affecting the return of any candidate at the election,
makes or publishes any false statement of fact in relation to the candidate's
personal character or conduct shall be guilty of an illegal practice, unless he
can show that he had reasonable grounds for believing, and did believe, that
statement to be true.
Further, Section 181 of the Representation of the People Act states:-
(1)
Where information is given to the Director of Public Prosecutions that any offence
under this Act has been committed it is his duty to make such inquiries and institute
‘such prosecutions as the circumstances of the case appear to him to require.”
In view of the serious nature of the allegations made by your candidate George Galloway,
our client will formally notify the Director of Public Prosecutions and invite her to make the
appropriate investigations and to institute such prosecutions that she think fit.
‘ours faithfully
