2.GuidedPractice:Teacher1willleadtheguidedpracticeattable1and2.Shewilltakeoneofthe
nutritionalfactsheetsandreviewitwiththestudents,beingsuretopointoutservingsizeandsugarcontent.
Shewillthenguidethestudentsinmeasuringoutthatamountofsugar.Shewillinstructthestudentstodo
thesamewiththeothernutritionalfactsthattheyweregiven.Astheycompletetheworkwithintheirgroup
teacher1willwalkaroundansweringquestionsandmakingsurethestudentsfillintheappropriatesections
oftheirworksheet.
Teacher2willleadtheguidedpracticeattable3and4.Eachstudentwilltastetheirsamplesonebyoneas
Teacher2leadsadiscussionabouttheirthoughts.Oncetheycompletethetastingportionofthelabthe
teacherwillbegingoingthroughthefirstportionoftheworksheettogether.
3.AssessmentActivity:Thestudentsremainattheirfinallabstationandcompletetheworksheet.Oncethey
completetheirworksheettheywillturnitinandbeginworkingontheirexitticket(sciencelabnotebook
entry).Thestudentswillreflectontheirthoughtsonthelab,whatsurprisedthem,andwhattheyenjoyed
aboutthelab.Anyofthestudentscandothisbywriting,doingacollage,conceptmap,orpicture.
