Assessment Brief BTEC (QCF)

Qualification: Diploma in Creative Media Production:

Level 2

Year: 2015

Hand Out Date: /04/2015

Assessor: Owain Milford

Assessment No: 1

Unit No (s): 21

Unit Title (s): Creative Media Production Project

Scenario:

With the advent of social media, more and more media success stories are arising from
creative people working independently to create their own unique, imaginative and entertaining
media products. Social media now acts as a way of measuring a piece of medias success and can
result in sponsorship or funding from big names.
Its time for you to put everything youve learnt over the year together to develop a media
product and prove that you are the top producer(s) of the group. The type of product is your choice.
The producer(s) who gains the most likes for their product, wins!

Hand in Date

Task Outline
For this project you may create either a video production, an
animation, a photography portfolio/exhibition or a video game.
You can work individually or in a team for this project, but where
the project is a team production, the proposal must be produced
individually, even though it will be based on group activity.
Where a group is working on a joint project, you must ensure
that all members of the group have an equal role and that each
role will enable the student undertaking it to produce adequate
evidence for assessment.

You can also engage or employ others to work for you, as long
as the work produced by others is under your direction and
control. You must be able to demonstrate that this is the case,
and has been throughout the project.

The Proposal
You will be required to write a proposal document for your
project. Use the pathway guidance on eStudy to help you write
your proposal. All proposals will need to cover: content, style or
approach, audience and length or size.
You will also need to consider legal and ethical issues.
Your proposal will need to be presented through the use of
software to a panel of you peers.
The Production
Throughout your production you will be required to keep a
project diary on all actions you take. This diary can then be
uploaded to Weebly along with appropriate screenshots,
photographs and production documentation. The diary may be
collected as a written document, a vlog or an audio recording.
The Review
At the end of your project you will be required to undertake an
interview to discuss the successfulness of your project. Please
see appropriate eStudy presentation for detail on what will be
discussed.
