Re: Status of CSOL & InfiLaw
Dear Colleagues, Friends, & Members of the CSOL Community,
Yesterday, the SBA received credible information that InfiLaw is no longer in discussions with
CSOL faculty and that InfiLaw is not prepared to submit another application to the SC
Commission on Higher Education, Our understanding is that Directors Carr and Kosko are
considering other options for the continued operation of the school.
The SBA has been in contact with Dean Abrams and has expressed our desire that there be full
disclosure regarding InfiLaw's current status, including whether they are completely withdrawing
or, if they are remaining in some capacity, in what form. We will make a similar request directly
to InfiLaw and to the Directors. We understand that this information is critical to student
decision-making,
‘We urge students to refrain from speculating and to focus on their upcoming exams and end-of-
year projects. SBA continues to gather facts regarding the potential dispositions of CSOL, with
the primary goal that the interests of students be protected to the greatest extent possible. To that
‘end, we continue to believe that a non-profit model best serves the interests of the students and
the community as a whole. However, we remain open to discussions of any disposition which
would serve those interests,
We will continue to provide updates as additional facts become available.
Respectfully Yours,
Matthew Z. Kelly
