Overall, I was impressed with most of the students progress from the
pre-assessment to the post-assessment. The pre-assessment scores tested
their knowledge of the lesson from the day before and also prepared them

for the lesson I taught. The low scores on the pre-assessment show me that
either (A) the student may have been absent the previous day or (B) they did
not utilize their ability to receive help from their desk partner. Their increase
on the post-assessment shows me that they were actively listening during
the lesson and were able to comprehend what the assessment was asking
from them.
On the pre-assessment there were three students that scored a 1,
five students that scored a 2, four students that scored a 3, three
students that scored a 4 and three students that scored a 5. The class
was split half and half between those who score above a 3 and those who
scored below it. This shows no pull one way or the other but rather a very
average scoring assessment for a class with certain accommodation present.
On the post-assessment there proves to be somewhat of a dramatic
difference for some students. No student scored below a 7 which was
encouraging and also a reflection on the knowledge they retained during the
lesson. Once again over half of the class scored above a 12 with five
students scoring a 14, which is the highest scoring category out of the
whole class.

Individuals:
I chose three students during this lesson to analyze their learning. My
high performing student was student number eleven. The average

performing student was student number ten. My low performing student was
student number twelve.
Student number eleven, the high performing student, scored perfectly
on the pre-assessment and only missed one question on the post
assessment. During the pre-assessment the student utilized their desk
partner and also proved that they remembered the knowledge from the
previous lesson. They also made good connections between the previous
lesson and the current material, earning himself a 5. This student
consistently is attentive, takes good notes, participates in conversation, and
helps his peers therefore I was not surprised when I saw that his preassessment was excellent. His hard work also reflected in the postassessment where he only missed one question. He took good notes
throughout the lecture, was focused, alert, and was the first to have his hand
up when a question was asked.
Student number ten was chosen as the average performer in the class.
He scored a 3 on the pre-assessment and an 11 on the post-assessment.
This student made little to no gain or lose on all assessments and is
generally a well-behaved student. She has her homework about 80% of the
time and raises her hand occasionally to contribute to the classroom
conversation. I did see her utilizing her desk partner during the preassessment but not to the fullest extent which is why I believe she scored a
3 and not a 5. She was one of two students who scored an 11 on the
post-assessment and it reflects her participation and focus in class. Overall,

she is a good student who worked efficiently and was a contributing member
to class discussion.
Student number twelve was chosen as the low performing student.
This student scored a 1 on the pre-assessment and an 8 on the postassessment. He was very distracted during the pre-assessment and was also
a distraction to his peers and this reflected in his grade. He constantly comes
to class unprepared and he did not take any notes during the lecture to
assist with the post-assessment. This student does not work efficiently with
partners and does not utilize his resources wisely.
