Writing a Song; Protein Synthesis Analogy

By Autumn Stevens
~DNA: All the feelings of the artist
(In the mind (nucleus) the feelings are what
make a person)
~RNA Polymerase: Love of music
(The love of music is what turns my feelings
into words (mRNA))
~mRNA: Thought/feeling in words
(The translated thoughts in prose)
~tRNA: Musicians taking info from think
sheet and organizing rhythms for instruments
(They add their piece (instrumental
line(anticodon)) based on my thoughts in
words (codon))
~Ribosome: Think sheet
This is where all of my thoughts come
together for translation)
~Protein: Song
(The end result)
~Amino Acids: Verse w/instrumental
(One portion of song after translation)
~Nucleus: Mind of writer
(Where the thoughts are found)
~Gene: One feeling of writer
(One group of thoughts)
~Nucleotides: Individual thoughts/feelings
(One specific thought)
~Transcription (process): The feelings of the
artist being converted into words (prose) by
the artist
~Translation (process): The musicians coming
together to build off of the feeling in words
(prose) and write verses to compose a song
~Codon: Word/ portion of the thought in
words (poetry) (Lyrics)
~Anticodons: Each instrumental piece
(Taking the lyrics to make instrumental lines)

1.

All of my feelings (made of

individual thoughts) are unwound by my

love of music to put my chaotic thoughts
into words (prose) all among my mind.
a.

My DNA (made

of individual nucleotides) is
unwound by RNA Polymerase to
put my genes into mRNA all among
the nucleus.
2.

On my cluttered think sheet lie

the prose of my thoughts. One piece at a

time I ask the thoughts of others to give
me rhythms for a drum beat, a piano
harmony, and a bass line.
a.

In the ribosome

lie the mRNA. Each codon at time,

I use the tRNA to give me its
anticodon.
3.

With each instrumental piece, I

create verses. With the verses, I create a

song.
a.

With each

anticodon, I create amino acids.

With the amino acids I create a
protein.

Manufacturing Music
My mind has some feelings
Ones Ill make a lullaby
Quite possibly an anthem
Of which Ill compose with others
Let me render my feelings into words
That Ill describe to yo-o-o-u
Pull the essence
Pull the thought
Pull the beauty
All in my head, is the emotion I give to you
All in my head, are the core to my being
Expend the rendition to share the principle of my mind
Communicate through the rhythm
My chaotic think sheet, Ill do it one thought at a time
Give me a bass, to melt my heart,
A drum to give it structure
Piano to soothe the sou-u-u-ul
Add my prose in words of love
Now something to release the tension, communicate my emotions
Pull the essence
Pull the thought
Pull the beauty
All in my head, is the emotion I give to you
All in my head, are the core to my being
Expend the rendition to share the principle of my mind
Communicate through the rhythm
It was in my mind, emotions,
I reveal to you a song
