Final FEAPS Goal Progress Reflection

My goal is: to become proficient with the SMART Board.
FEAP(s) #(s): #3 Instructional Delivery and Facilitation
Why did you select this goal?
I selected this goal because before this internship I had
never had experience with a SMART board. I noticed that this
technology was in every classroom in the school and I
wanted to learn as much as I could about the technology so I
could use it to teach my students in an engaging way. I also
feel that this is a technology savvy generation and I want to
be able to incorporate technology into my lessons when I
become a classroom teacher.
Describe several ways you grew in each of these areas. How
do you know you made progress? Provide specific evidence
(refer to videos, observation notes, student work, photos,
field notes, etc.) to back up these claims of growth .
1} I started out knowing absolutely nothing about the SMART
Board and now I have completed a 30 minute lesson using
the SMART Board.
- I know I made progress because I learned all new
knowledge about how the technology worked and how to
design a lesson on it.
- I used Google, YouTube and my CT to get info about
the technology.
2} I gained new knowledge about SMART Boards.
- I know I made progress because I asked the media
specialist for several one-on-one meetings on how the
technology worked.

- I took observational notes and some video when I met

with the media specialist.
3} I facilitated a lesson with the SMART Board.
- I know I made progress because I sat down with my CT
and made a 30 minute lesson on the SMART Board.
- I took observational video and notes while conducting
the lesson.
4} I used the technology in a way that benefited my
students.
- I know I made progress because the students were
engaged
- Student work from the lesson showed that they gained
the content of the lesson being taught.
Where do you go from here? What are your future goals as
you move toward your final internship?
I know that the SMART Board can do so many things, so I will
continue to search out resources to improve my SMART
Board skills. I have not obtained my goal of becoming
proficient with the SMART Board, but I have a good start on
it and I am excited to learn more about this technology.
My future goals as I move forward are to learn as much as a
can about the SMART Board. I know that my new CT will have
a different outlook/opinion on the technology than my first
CT, so I am interested to hear how another teacher
incorporates this technology in his/her classroom.
