Aaron, Jesse. The Controversial Dichotomy Between Sports and ESports. The Huffington
Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, 18 Feb.2015. Web. 27 Mar. 2015.
Jesse Aaron is a writer for the Huffington Post that focuses on sports and esports. In
this article he talks about the evolution of both sports and esports and uses football
and League of Legends as his points of reference. The article is basically talking
about how League of Legends is evolving at a much quicker rate than football ever
did while football still had a higher viewer base. I needed a way to find out why
esports should even be compared to sports and this article helps me find very solid
reasons.
The information comes from Huffington Post which I believe to be very reliable.
The article was also published this year so the information should be up to date.

Caioli, L. Ronaldo: The Obsession for Perfection. London: Corinthian, 2012. Print.
Luca Caioli is a renowned Italian sports journalist and is a chieft editor for
Euronews TV in France. The reputation this author has leads me to believe that this
book will be a good example of the kind of life Ronaldo had as he was growing up.
The book covers the achievements of Ronaldo and his insatiable desire for
perfection. Ronaldos life is an example of rags to riches through extremely hard
work and dedication and this book covers every bit of that. This will be very useful
to me because I can easily see what Ronaldo did throughout his life.
I believe this source is reliable and easily shows the hardships and dedication that
Ronaldo had in pursuing excellence in soccer. This is a recently published title and I
believe the information is up to date.
Edwards, Tyler. ESports: A Brief History. ADANAI. N.p., 30 Apr. 2013. Web. 24 Apr.
2015.
Tyler Edwards is a journalist for ADANAI and focuses on esports. This article
helped me get a general idea of the history of esports and nothing more than that.
While it does not directly pertain to my topic, I still wanted a general understanding
of the history behind the esports scene.

The website itself seems a little sketchy, but the information from here will not be
too impactful in my essay so I am not too worried about it. The information is fairly
up to date.
Lazenby, Ronald. Michael Jordan: The Life. Little, Brown, 2014. Print.
Ronald Lazenby is a sports journalist and author of many books that cover football,
basketball, and baseball. He seems to be very interested in the work ethic behind
professional and the mind games that go on behind the scenes during games. In his
book, Michael Jordan: The Life, he gets the perspective of Michals life through his
friends, family, coaches, and teammates. Interviewing them and Michael himself,
Lazenby strives to provide the most accurate story of Michaels life and the drive he
had to achieve excellence. I believe this biography of Michael will be useful to my
topic because I am able to fully capture what kind of life Michael lead in order to
get to where he is now.
This source seems to be very reliable and an accurate representation of Michaels
life. All of his information comes from countless interviews of Michaels friends,
family, coaches, and teammates and I am able to easily see what kind of work
Michael put into basketball. This book was recently published and the information
should be up to date.
MachinimaVS. Doublelift: The Road t o Success. Online Video Clip. Youtube. Youtube,
22 Apr, 2013.
Machinima is very well known gaming content producer that covers various gaming
titles. In this video, Machinima has Peter Doublelift Peng explain the hardships he
had to go through to become a professional gamer. Peter explains thoroughly what
kind of sacrifices he made on his path to being a professional gamer and the
struggles he had living away from his family. This video should be very useful
because it directly pertains to my topic.
All of my information of E-Sports will be sketchy, but I believe Machinima out of
all of the other possible sources is the more on the professional and reliable side of
sources. This video is fairly old, but I believe it will provide me good information to
work with.
Mozur, Paul. For South Korea, E-Sports Is National Pastime. The New York Times. The
New York Times, 19 Oct. 2014. Web. 24 Apr. 2015.

Paul Mozur is a writer for the NY Times and in this article he covers how South
Korea views E-Sports and the culture behind it. This is particularly important to me
because while E-Sports is still rejected in America, it is shown that E-Sports can be
a thing in other places of the world. The information provided here gives me a
summary of the culture of E-Sports in South Korea and where it originated from. I
believe this information will be very useful to me.
I am really glad I was able to find a source from NY Times and it is a very reliable
place to find information. I hope to use a lot of information from this source.
Rengifo, Alberto. What It Takes To Be a Progamer. Online Video Clip. Youtube. Youtube,
9 Feb, 2015.
Alberto Crumbzz Rengifo is a recently retired professional League of Legends
player. He recently released a video log covering what someone has to do to become
a professional gamer. The video is half an auto-biography and half a detailed
explanation of the things needed to be a professional gamer. This video will be very
useful to me because I am getting a perspective directly from a professional player
and he does an excellent job of explaining his points.
Because E-Sports is a fairly recent trend, all the information in going to feel
untrustworthy and unreliable so I need to be careful the information I take from
these. This is a really recent video, being published this year, so I hope the
information can be very useful for my topic.
Rosaforte, Tim. Tiger Woods: The Making of a Champion. New York: St. Martins Press,
1997. Print.
Tim Rosaforte has been following Tiger Woods since his debut in the PGA Junior
Championship when he was fourteen. Rosaforte being a senior writer at Sports
Illustrated I believe his account of Tiger Woods life will be very reliable. This
biography basically follows Tiger from when he was ten months old, first swinging
his club, to his first Masters victory when he was twenty-one. This biography will
be useful because I will be able to get another perspective on the work ethic that
professionals have.
I believe that this source may be biased and some of the information may be
inaccurate because the author did not directly interview Tiger or his family. But the
book still gives a good summary of Tigers success and dedication to Golf. Though
this book is old, I was able to find the information I was looking for.

Segal, David. Behind League of Legends, E-Sports Main Attraction. The New York
Times. The New York Times, 11 Oct. 2014. Web. 24 Apr. 2015.
David Segal is a writer for the NY Times and wrote about League of Legends in this
particular article. He covers the staff behind the game and rising popularity all over
the world. This will be really useful to me because I believe League of Legends is
one of the biggest reasons of the rising popularity of E-Sports around the world.
Since it is from NY Times, I find the source to be reliable. I hope to use a lot of this
information in my essay.
Te, Zorine. League of Legends 2014 World Championship Pool Is Over $2 Million.
GameSpot. GameSport, 6 Aug. 2014. Web. 24 Apr. 2015.
Not too much to write about for this source since I was only looking for a few prize
pool numbers. Zorine Te is a writer GameSpot and was relaying information about
the prize pool of last years tournament.
The information can be found directly from League of Legends so the information
is accurate.
