Brad Simons Professional Growth Plan
In order to progress in life goals need made, and achieved. If
progress isnt recorded than how do we know what we are achieving?
As a first year teacher it is critically important to set goals and record
achievements to that goal. This information can help create a stable
foundation of teaching for years to come.
1st year goals:
During my first year of teaching I want have positive student
engagement in my classes. I will achieve this goal by attending district
workshops, implementing learning strategies based off of the needs of
each classroom, and by collaborating with administration and other
faculty members to see what works best. I will increase my Content
knowledge by attending district workshops, working with the district
Social Studies coach, and attending Social Studies seminars and
conferences when time permits. I will improve classroom management
skills by daily self- evaluation of what worked and what didnt, having
other faculty members observe my class and give feedback for more
effective strategies, and I will implement suggestions from
administration as they observe my class
5-year goals:

Brad Simon
At my five-year mark of teaching, I want to be an example to other
teachers in my department and school. In order to do this I will become
certified to teach AP and/or IB classes. I will join organizations like
NCHE, AHA, and other Historical teaching organizations to help me find
new exciting ways to teach history to students. I also plan on obtaining
my Masters in Educational Leadership from ASU by my third year, to
help me better understand what tools I need to be successful leader to
my students and peers. I will continue to attend development
conferences to always find better ways to effectively teach students. I
plan on helping with Academic Decathlon and other Academic
organizations, so I can help students achieve success using my prior
knowledge as a competitor in the competition. If athletic coaches are
needed I can help as well. I have over 4 years coaching experience in
Football, and love helping Student-Athletes improve their skills.
