AncientEgypt.Usingimagesanddiscussion,studentswillexploreandmake
comparisonsofcartouchesfoundinthetombsofimportantfiguresfromAncientEgypt.
Afterstudentshavebecomefamiliarwiththemeaningandusageofcartouches
throughteacherleddiscussion,studentswillbeaskedtocreatetheirowncartouches
oftheirbirthnameusingtheAncientEgyptianalphabetinhieroglyphs.Studentswill
usepencil,thenpermanentmarkersandcoloredpencils.

AncientEgypt.Inspiredbyresearchfrombooks,onlineresourcesanddiscussion,
studentswillexploreandmakecomparisonsofthepharaohsandqueensinAncient
Egypt.Usingalongsheetofbrownmuralpaperandingroupsofthreeorfour
,
studentswilldelegateasagroupwhowillmapoutthetop,middleandbottomofthe
bodytocreatethemummycase.Usingfirstpencilthencoloredpencils,markersand
paint,studentswillworkcollaborativelytorepresenttheirpharaohorqueenofchoice.
