Classes and Levels Offered


Dance classes are offered in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical styles.
Classes are held Monday- Friday with performance rehearsals on
Saturdays.
Levels:
- Non- Intensive: for all ages. Once a week, a more relaxed approach for
less committed students.
- Intensive- a serious commitment made to ballet making classes and
performances first priority. Classes are taken 3-4 times a week and are
mandatory.
- Dancers Project 1 and 2- A heightened class technique experience as
well as more performance opportunities for serious dancers.
- Company- The highest level opportunity at ACAD. Dancers are chosen
through an audition process and evaluated for technical and performance
skills. If accepted contracts of commitment are signed.
- In addition to the core levels for students there are teen and adult ballet
classes held for those with little to no dance experience who would like to
learn in a no intensive environment.

Summer Intensives
8 Week Pre- Ballet Summer Session
8 Week Beginner Level Ballet Summer Session
2 Week Intensive Elementary Ballet Program
3 or 4 Week Intermediate Advanced Ballet Program
Performances at the end of each intensive are held to
showcase the progress made over the summer! (In
studio performance)

Performances
Winter Performance:

-Nutcracker or Copellia (Alternates)


- Held at Barnstable High School and Marthas Vineyard
Student Showcase

- Dances (both solos and groups) choreographed by students


- Held at ACAD studio
Spring Show:

- The Spring Show changes every two years. Some past examples are:
Alice in Wonderland and The Little Mermaid
- Held at Cape Cod Community College
** Parents, friends or anyone else who would like to buy a ticket is welcome
to the show. There are also performances done exclusively for elementary
school students at different times.

Competitions
Dancers who are apart of the ACAD Company have the
opportunity to perform in multiple competitions. There is
one or two group dances that are choreographed and
some dancers may be chosen to do a solo. Competitions
require a lot of practice and commitment.
Some of the competitions that ACAD performs in include:

- Elite Performance Challenge


- Star Bound
- Youth American Grand Prix
- Showstopper

Events:
Senior Banquet
- Seniors are honored at this banquet with friends, family, dance teachers and
fellow dancers in attendance. The night is dedicated towards remembering
each of the senior dancers and celebrating their success while at ACAD and
wishing them the best for the future.
Princess and Pirate Party
- An event held for young children to come with their parents and eat while
watching a performance with pirates and princesses!
