Regarding to the didactic function of poetry, Poe argues: It has been assumed, tacitly and
avowedly, directly and indirectly, that the ultimate object ofallPoetryisTruth.Everypoem,should

CreationofBeauty.ItssolearbierisTaste. WiththeIntellect orwiththeConscienceithasonly
