Course Overview:
I love, love, love this course and I want you to love it as well! We will
be reading, writing, and creating all things food! It is an active, handson class, and full participation and effort is needed to have everyone
get the most they can from this class. I will promise to put forth my full
effort insofar as I receive your effort in return.
Classroom Expectations for Students:
This is an intense, active class. I have certain expectations for myself
and for students in order for us to have a positive experience.
Come to class and come on time! You cannot learn all there is
to learn if you arent in class. Additionally, our class periods
will be busy and tardies interrupt the flow of the class.
Bring all appropriate materials especially on lab days!
Be involved and have an open mind. Creativity is encouraged.
Unless required for an activity, dont use cell phones.
Be safe. Do not put yourself in a situation where you could
harm yourself or others.
It is a privilege to be in this class please treat it like one!

I care about my students and will treat them with respect.
I will work hard for my students; I want my students to
achieve.
I will communicate with my students and parents.
I allow students in my classroom as long as they do not cause
a problem. If they cause a problem, I will fix it. What I do will
depend on the situation.

Projects

All assignments are due on time.


Assignments will receive a 10% deduction per day until zero.
Make up work will be located in the corresponding period folder.
It is your responsibility to figure out what was missed! Students
will have 3 class periods to turn in make up work at which point
the standard late deductions will take place.
There will be two lab/exam make-up periods per week. If youve
missed a lab or exam, please make sure to schedule a time with
me! You have two weeks to make-up a lab/exam before it is
graded as a zero.

Materials:
This is a hands-on, active class! In order to be successful, you need to
come to class with all necessary items!
Chef coat
Recipe binder
Journal
Textbook/assigned readings
Closed-toed shoes on lab days

Extra Credit:

Extra credit may be offered throughout the semester, and points will
vary based on assignment. However, the best way to achieve a better
grade is to come and ask for help before it becomes a problem! Ms.
Field is available during 2nd and 4th periods, before school, and at lunch.
