Evidence of Knowledge/NAEYC STANDARDS

1. Child DV 120: (Remembering your Favorite Teachers) Standards 1 and 6a, 4d.
Promoting child development and learning, consist of all key elements when writing this
assignment I had to identify and involve myself with the early childhood field. I also had
to remember when I was a child and place myself back as a child, allowing me to
understand young childrens characteristic and needs. I choose this artifact because every
child grows and develop never forgetting the teachers that helped make learning fun and
providing multiple influences on development and learning. I also choose this particular
artifact because it allowed me to reflect on my own practice to promote positive
outcomes through my experience for other children.
2. Child DV 258: (Bulletin Board) Standards 5, 5c, 4 and 4c. I decided to use this artifact
because its developmentally appropriate according to NAEYC Standards for Early
Childhood Professional Preparation Program. This artifact allowed me to utilize
developmental effective approaches to connect with children and families. I put this
bulletin board on display during parent and teacher conferences which gave parents and
families to an actual visual example how their children interact effectively.
3. Child DV 201: (Child Case Study Report) Standards 3 and 7. this specific artifact
provided me with the appropriate field experience which abled me to observe and write
an accurate child case study report. I was goals, also able to know and understand,
benefits in use of this assessment. I enjoyed the opportunity to have observed and create
this child case study because I was able to use systematic observation, documentation and
other effective assessment strategies.
4. Child DV 143: (Science and Math Observation) Standards 1, 3, and 4. This activity
provided me with Promoting child development and learning as well as the chance to
visually observe and know whats expected as the key elements. I choose this artifact
because it gave me the experience with observing documenting and assessing young
children to support my observation. I also enjoyed this activity because its mandatory
preparation of knowing and understanding goals and benefits, by doing so I became able
to understand that teaching and learning with young children is a complex enterprise.
Another reason in choosing this artifact is because I am more than ready and able to
understand as well as use positive relationships and supportive interactions as a
foundation in order to work with young children and families as mentioned in the
NAEYC STANDARDS for Early Childhood Education.
5. Child DV 262-1: (Visiting a Program) Standards 1, 2, 5 and 6. The program that I
decided to visit was a Head Start based center. During my visit I learned how important

building families and community relationships played a tremendous role in our

communities and in the lives of parents and children. I grew able to use developmental
knowledge to create healthy, respectful, supportive and challenging learning
environments when the proper time came. Visiting this program allows me to use content
that knowledgeable to build meaningful curriculum. I choose this artifact because I
learned a lot about the families in the community and the children development if they
did not receive the developmentally appropriate help that was being offered in this center.
I also gained a step toward becoming professional, as well as learning about families and
communities that were diverse.
6. Child DV 107: (Nutrition Activity) Standard 1. Helping and supporting childrens
health and using developmental knowledge to create a supportive learning environment.
7. Child DV 149: (The Soloist) Standards 3 and 7. This activity consisted of me simply
placing myself back as a child, and then reflecting on how mw my childhood could
positively or negatively shaped me into the person that I am today.
8. Child DV 109: (3 in 1 matching card language card game) Standard 7. This activity
was created based upon Early Childhood Field Experience for previous child
development courses.
9. Child DV 101: (Infant Observation) Standards 1 and 3. I choose this artifact because
it allowed me to observer and assessing to support young children.
10. Child DV 259: (Issues of Multicultural Education) Standards 1, 4, 6, and 7. This
artifact was truly important to me because I am a firm believer on creating and promoting
diversity throughout communities and within a developmentally appropriate connection
with children and families.
