ENG 111 College Composition I (3 cr)
Introduces students to the writing process and the fundamentals of the academic
essay. Teaches students to refine topics; develop and support ideas; investigate,
evaluate and incorporate appropriate resources; edit for effective style and usage;
and determine appropriate approaches for a variety of contexts, audiences and
purposes. May include writing activities such as personal essays, arguments,
summaries and paraphrases, documented essays and electronic communication.

HIS 121 United States History I (beginning through Civil War) (3 cr)
Surveys United States history from its beginning to the Civil War. Prerequisites: ENF
1 or ENF 2. Lecture 3 hours per week. (F, Su)
Campbell 2
Studies factors that led to the division between the States. Examines the war, the
home fronts, and the era of Reconstruction. Lecture 3 hours per week.
Campbell 3
Includes finding the equation of a line, graphing linear equations and inequalities in
two variables and solving systems of two linear equations. Emphasizes writing and
graphing equations using the slope of the line and points on the line, and
applications. Credit is not applicable toward graduation. Prerequisite(s): MTE 4 or
qualifying placement score. 1 credit (F, S, Su)

Future Business Leaders of America, Historian Officer 2007, at VVTC. FBLA-PBL is
the largest business career student organization in the world. The high school
division has 215,000 members, while the postsecondary division reaches over
11,000 college students. The newest group, FBLA-Middle Level, is showing
remarkable growth with over 20,000 student members. Finally, the Professional
Division has reached over 3,000 members. Over 11,000 advisers round out the
group. Exclusive membership and career recognition programs are designed for
each division to provide additional personal and chapter development opportunities.
FCCLA
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national Career and
Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership
development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and
Consumer Sciences education. 2004-2008
Campbell 5
Upon successfully passing the exam, the learner will earn their Certified Food
Protection Manager (CFPM) designation (or CFP). This acronym can be added to the
individual's name. The certification is valid for a period of three to five years. At the
end of the certification period, recertification will be required.
