Executive Summary

The principle mission of this report is to evaluate the possibility to keep

offering the Kinesiology courses at Texas A&M University at Qatar. The
Kinesiology courses that were offered are a sit of diverse physical activities
that help the students to explore their physical strengths, limits, and learn
about new sports. The physical activities include a wide range of choices
such as: Volleyball, Fitness Conditioning, Tennis, Golf, Soccer, yoga, and
many other options. These courses were divided into three gender categories
that are male, female, and mix. This enables the students to comfortably
choose the desired physical activity. However, a decision stating that as of
the academic year 2015-2016 the university will stop offering the Kinesiology
courses.
Methodology
Because this research requires the students opinion, the method that
was needed to successfully conduct this research is a survey. This survey
was sent to the students currently enrolled at Texas A&M University at Qatar
to analyze their responses and opinion about the KINE courses. Also to
evaluate their support about the proposal to keep offering the KINE courses
at the university. The survey can be viewed in the following Appendix-A.
Appendix-A

Data Evaluation
The survey was sent to all the students that are currently enrolled in
the university and then the data was collected for analysis. The data that
was observed showed pleasant results that is in support of the purpose of
this research. That is the University of Texas A&M should consider to continue
offering the Kinesiology courses. The survey received a total of 62
respondents and 32 expressed their opinions about the issue. Their
responses have been used to create the following wordle.

As you can see from the wordle, the largest words indicate the
most common words. good, mandatory, Love are the most common words
in the respondes. This shows how students think about the KINE courses and

apparently they would like to continue taking these courses. Also most of the
students that already participated in the KINE courses think that it is really
important for them and it is a necessary part of their semester. Out of all the
respondents 86.6% have taken a Kinesiology course and most of them said

that they would be intrested to take another course in future semester.

The above bar chart shows the courses that have been taken by the
students and their choices vary. However, it was noticiable that the students
preferd taking courses such as: Badminton, Besketball, and strength training
that they choose as other. That doesn not mean that the students were not
intrested in the other sports, it is simply because they were not available for
them. The students then were asked in the survey to rate how effective the
Kinesiology courses that they have taken and the highst percentage of
45.5% rated it as strongly agree. Then another question that received a
satisfying result was directed to the students that did not take the course but
are intrested to take it in the future. 40.6% of the the students choose
strongly agree and again it is the highest percentage. This illustraits the high
demand for the Kinesiology courses from the students.

The above bar graph represents the responses of the student whom
are interested in taking KINE courses in the future. Similarly, their choices
are diverse and it seems that Archery is the most requested course.
Therefore, this should be considered while evaluating the future decision
about offering the KINE courses. Another important information that was
revealed by this survey is an outstanding response from the students who
wanted the university to continue offering Kinesiology courses. Around 91%
of the students answered yes to the question "would you like the University
of Texas A&M Qatar to continue offering the Kinesiology courses?. This
shows how enthusiastic the students are about taking the course and one of
the comments stated I think the students need to do some sport at TAMUQ
away from engineering stuff! This demonstrates that the students need
these course to relive the stress they get from other academic courses.
Finally, the survey asked the students if they are willing to sign a petition to
keep offering the Kinesiology courses at Texas A&M University at Qatar. Their
responses are shown by the bar graph below.

Conclusion
This research helped us get to the conclusion that the students sincerely
hope that the Kinesiology courses continue to be offered as part of the
curriculum. Another reason is that it is important to stay physically active to
maintain a healthy lifestyle, yet it can be hard for students to do so because
they have so many responsibilities during college years. Students have to
deal huge amounts of pressure during exams, projects, or simply trying to
maintain an active social life. Thus many students tend to neglect their
health but by making the KINE courses part of the curriculum, the students
are always reminded about their health.
