Intheearly1960'sagroupoffanaticreactionariesinFrance,feelingbetrayedbyDeGaulle'sdecision
toleaveAlgeria,formagrouptokillhim.Theytry,unsuccessfully,severaltimes.Theirorganization
isinfiltratedbytheFrenchauthoritiesandislosingsupport.Thatmuchisfact.Inthisnovel,they
decidetohireaprofessionalassassintokillDeGaulle.Heisbrilliantbutheisupagainsttheentire
Frenchauthorityand,inparticular,againstClaudeLebel,thepoliceofficerplacedinchargeofthe
operation.
