The Effects That Art in Education Can Have on a Student

This article has an info-graphic showing the differences of adding art into
education. The graphic lists many of the academic achievements attributed to
the arts, arguing that music, art, dance, and theatre are just as important
when pushing for innovation, critical thinking, communication, and
flexibility. I found this article very helpful because it shows the facts and
numbers behind the information.

This article contains an info-graphic that shows the main functions of the left
and right side of the brain. It also includes the teaching style that deals with
either side as well as what both sides determine together. This article
touches on how kids acquire, learn and process information internally. I
found this article very helpful because it is a visual explaining the
information as well as the text.

This article touches on the importance of art in education to the public. It
discusses how most car designers, mechanical engineers, and medical
facilities designing body part are all artists. Art inspired them to do what they
do now. It talks about how art it sometimes the first thing to get thrown out
in education, and how that should not be happening. This is a very helpful
article to me; it shows a different perspective than just the average artist.

This article includes a study done about the effects of art education in
secondary schools. It touches on the effectiveness of the methods and the
integrations of music, art, dance and drama in schools. It includes the
teachers responses as well as the students perspectives. I found this article
very helpful because it shows the different arts instead of just focusing on art
itself.

This article is about how integrating the arts into education can help children
deal with stress. It states that stress eliminates a childs ability to fully learn

and how working in the arts has been shown to produce endorphins, which
counteracts the effects of stress. I think this article was very helpful it gave
me yet another example of a positive effect that the arts can have on students
when art is integrated into education.

This was an interview with an elementary school art teacher. It was about
her experiences as a teacher and her opinions on art. It touches upon how art
is the first to get thrown out of an education budget and about the students
experiences with art. This was very helpful to me because I got to hear a
teachers perspective on the issue as well as her everyday routine.

This article was about how students benefit from the arts. It states all the
skills students learn from studying with the arts, the percent of people
pushing from arts in education, the students success with the arts in
education, and the positive support that the arts get. This was a very helpful
article; it gave me new perspectives and developments.

This article talks about the effect that art has on the brain. It states studies
done with children to show the effects. This was extremely helpful to me. It is
a proven study of the effects art has on a child and how it can increase
cognitive abilities.

This article gave the academic effects on the student, as well as the effects
outside of the classroom that the arts can have on a student. This was a
helpful article; it gave me another effect other than academics.

This article and video gave you a visual perspective with interviews from
people working with the children. It gave you many examples and facts of the
arts in education. I loved that it showed the children learning with the arts.
This was very helpful to me with my research.
