Lesson Topic: Punctuation Marks in English
Grammar
Lesson Objectives: What are the learning objectives
of the lesson?
Read and study what punctuation marks bring
to reading.

Procedures/ Activities: Provide a detailed outline of

the steps of the lesson.
This is a fun exercise. Students can do this on their
own at any time.
Activity: Students can access the following link:
http://grammar.yourdictionary.com/punctuation/what/
fourteen-punctuation-marks.html

As students begin to read, I want them to use

the handy Punctuation Jungle Guide to guide
their reading. I want students to remind
themselves of these very basic things:
o When I get to a period at the end of a
sentence, do I stop and take a breath?
o When I see a sentence that has an
exclamation point (!) does my voice
change?
o When I see a sentence with a question
mark (?) do I read the sentence as if
waiting for an answer?

Accommodations:
Explain accommodations that you have made to the
lesson design or materials for students with special needs.
No accommodations are needed for this lesson.

Students will begin to read with more clarity.

As they begin their in class lessons I will
make sure that the dynamics of what
punctuation brings to reading is followed.
