Elementary Education (PreK-6) & English as a Second Language (PreK-12)

"Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate
of the earth."
~ Helen Caldicott, author and peace activist

I have over 150 hours of classroom experience in Shenandoah, Rockingham, and Harrisonburg Public Schools, and
possess the strengths of leadership, organization, timeliness, patience, respect, care, creativity, positivity, and innovation.
I believe a classroom should encourage
Positive and productive interaction between students as they work collaboratively to solve problems and
complete meaningful projects that meet Virginia SOLs and build long term connections
Students to engage in their learning and develop a curiosity that motivates them to ask questions
Positive feedback and encouragement for students to further develop their skills
Parents and community members to stay involved in the classroom
Differentiated lessons meant to guide each student to success by meeting high standards and reaching their
own potential
And, clearly outlined class expectations to enhance learning and promote strong character development to
grow students into productive adults
