Build fractions from unit fractions by applying and extending previous understandings of operations on

Main Lesson Aims (Concepts, Procedures, & Processes):
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to illustrate how can fraction be used to represent
numbers and their parts.

Possible Problems and Misconceptions:


Possible Problems: 1-misunderstand between Fraction and Unit fraction .
2-misunderstand some vocabulary related to the lesson.
Misconceptions:Student does not understand that when finding fractions of amounts, lengths, or areas, the
parts need to be equal in size.For example: Student says that 14 of the square is shaded.
Solutions for the Possible Problems and Misconceptions:
Give instruction before starting the lesson.
Introduce the vocabulary that the teacher will use in the lesson.
The teacher will write an example for the students in, the board and explain the questions and how to solve
the questions to have right answer.
The teacher will but a timer for each activity.

mean and what new word will be learned today.

First of all the teacher will introduce the fractions lesson for the
students by linking it to the video. And then she will describe for the
students the how to divide the shapes for equal part and how to write
unit's faction with pronunciation the number.

The teacher will write an example of how they can get the right answer
by drawing on the board and she will analyze the questions by
presenting it on the board with the instruction on how they can have the
correct answer.

After that, the teacher will give each groups an apple fraction
game.Then the teacher will illustrate the game instructions before the
start.

Teacher will ask the students to present and share their answer and how
they get this answer in front of their class.

Students will focus and participate with their teacher. They will ask
their teacher questions when they didnt understand.

Students will try to solve the question to have a right answer.

The teacher will give each students a UNO card they should follow the
teacher instructions, then you must read the question and find your
partner.
The instructions are: clear up your desk, I will throw a ball for each
group then each group we have one student to stand on the board and
listen carefully to the question .The teacher will say the question and
the students should answer in the board.
