Day 1-2

Days 2-3

Days 3-5

Framing the lesson/ Introduction

Students need to be familiar with using
different presentational tools before
the start of this project. (Prezi, Pow
Toons, Animoto, etc.) The different
teams also must be selected prior so
there is the correct balance of students
in each group. The students will have
also studied the journey of Lewis and
Clark. Each group will select a section
of the journey to the Pacific Ocean and
will make a five-minute video
presentation about that certain
section. No group can do the same
section and it does not matter what
tool they use to make their video
presentation. All filming and editing
will be done on Chrome Books.
Activities
Students will be introduced to the
project; I have created a video about
the very beginning of the Lewis and
Clark Journey and will show the
students. The first step is planning.
The students must create Mind
Meisters on what their ideas are. The
Mind Meisters are due at the end of the
next day.
Activities
All Mind Meisters should be complete
and script writing should begin. This
can be done with a pen or pencil or can
be done on Padlet if the students wish.
Until the students have their scripts
written and reviewed by myself, they
will not be able to begin filming.
Activities
All Mind Meisters and scripts need to
be completed. Filming will begin with
Chrome Books.

Monitor/Feedback
Knowledge of presentational tools and the Lewis
and Clark Journey are a must in order to
complete this lesson. Students should have
prior knowledge in both of these tasks in order
to be successful in this project.

I then explain that it took me a lot of time to

create this video and it will take a lot of time to
create their video as well. The students will
then be split into teams and will choose a
section of the Journey.

Students need to keep in mind that they are

narrating their presentations and that they must
explain thoroughly so that the audience knows
what they are talking about. This is a group
project so it is very important that every one is
contributing and working together.
Students will need to be taught how to film on
Chrome Books. Once again, all students need to
be engaged.

Days 5-7

All Mind Meisters, scripts and filming

should be completed. The editing
phase will begin. (This is where they
will put all of their content on to the
presentational tool of their choice.

Resources/Materials
Chrome Books
Padlet
Mind Meister
Paper
Pencil
Pow Toons
Prezi
Animoto
Popcorn

All students must be engaged and have some

proof of work on the presentation. All
presentations must be at least three minutes
long, have a narration that explains the topic, a
title at the beginning and an ending slide.
Students must also turn in their completed Mind
Meister and a copy of the complete script. Once
I have all of the video presentations, I will
combine them into one big video so that they go
in order of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. We
will watch the video the day after I compile all of
them together and have a popcorn party as well
to reward them for the diligence and hard work.
