April, 20, 2015

Audience Assessment
1. Specific Goal: My audience will be persuaded.

2. Opening Strategy: I will start my speech with a(n) humor.

Introduction

Hook: I think we all at times have the same additude towards exercise as fat Aimee.

Thesis: Exercise provides you so much good in your life than just being physically in shape.

Opening:

I think we all at times have the same additude towards exercise as fat Aimee. Exercise provides
you so much good in your life rather than being in shape.

1.) Mood Lifter

Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine. For example,
the feeling that follows a run or workout is often described as "euphoric." That feeling, known as
a "runner's high," can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life.

A. Happiness
B. Releases endorphins
C. Read quote on the board!

2.) Reduces Stress

"If your body feels better so does your mind."
Exercise creates endorphins which are chemicals in your brain that act as natural pain killers.

A. Releases endorphins
B. Calms you
C. Relieve anger

3.) Body Image

You feel better about yourself when you look good.

A. Keeps off excess weight
B. Tones and builds muscle
C. Clearer skin

Audrey Kunin says:
Working up a good sweat is the equivalent of getting a mini-facial. When the pores dilate, sweat
expels trapped dirt and oil. Just be sure to wash your face afterward so the gunk doesnt get
sucked back into the pores.

4.) Health Conditions

PREVENT OR MANAGE

A. Cancer
B. Depression
C. Diabetes

My biological father has diabetes and has never taken care of it. He eats what he wants and
refuses to exercise. That has made it so he has to give himself shots every day and multiple
hospital visits. The diabetes has now cause an infection and the will have to start amputating his
leg. So when you think that exercise doesn't matter think again because it can make a difference.

5.) Better Sleep

If you ever have trouble falling asleep at night, the National Sleep Foundation says that regular
exercise can help you sleep better. The best time to work out is in the morning or in the
afternoon, rather than before bed- if you exercise too closely to bedtime, it can actually have the
opposite effect.

6.) Enjoyment

When you are physically in shape it allows you to enjoy doing what you love.

7.) Fun

Exercise is a good way to get out and enjoy life and those around you. Go walking, hiking on a
biking swimming dancing, or enjoy a hobby, the world is your playground.
