Protest Art Analysis Essay

Racism basic on peoples race and racial groups to judge others. This
situation is occurred from the 19th century and it is still happening all around
the word today, it become a huge weapon to others and it had cause many
of the death. The people who wanted to make others understand that
everyone are the same and should be treated and having the right equally
the way others had being treated are starting to protest. People start to
protest by using visual art which is Graffiti, painting and posters, also some
others using the written protesting art which is song lyrics, poetry, and
speech to protest. In the painting A Tale of Two Hoodies protest art the
artist conveys the message that people need to stop racism through the
symbolisms and caption.
One of the way this painting was showing racism was through
symbolisms. In the painting, there is an American flag with tear had a
Confederate flag inside of it. The confederate flag is a flag that is being
considered by many to be a protest against school desegregation. This flag
had being continue using by some others because they believe that is the
symbol of different peoples independent, which for example the KKK (Ku
Klux Klan) group. So, this two symbolisms is showing about how some of the
different people that came into United State had being judge from others and
was being using violence.
Another symbolism is the white hat on the policeman and the black
child. In the art, the white hat on the policeman is a symbolism for the group
name KKK, which is stand for Ku Klux Klan and the word Ku-Klux is the word
come from Greek means group or team and Klan means race. So, basically
KKK is the group believe the white people are the highest and against the
people with different race. This group is the most represent group in USA for
the racist. Last but not least, the black child. The child is trying to give the
candy to the police but the police is pointing a gun to him. This show the
child was being consider a person who is going to use violence. Therefore,
the white hat which known as the KKK group is trying to use violence to stop
other race people to get into their country, they trying to get people out of
the country.
Next, the symbolism of the gun on the policemans hand. The gun that
the policeman holding against the black child it looks like he is about to kill
him. The problem with this is that, when racism happened people will always
lead to violence, just like the holocaust. In the holocaust because of people
are Jewish, they put them together and killed them with guns, gases and

burned them to death. The important message of this symbolism of the gun
will be racism will sometimes leaded to death, people cannot have the
thought of others just because of the race that was different with us.
Lastly, the caption in the art. The art was being frame with a photo
frame, and on the bottom of the frame it had the tittle which named is A
Tale of two Hoodies. The tittle name means that the hat was on the
policeman and the hat on the child. The policeman was thinking that the
child had steal or being some kind of trouble like murder or using violence
just because he had his hat on, cause that how people think when black
people have a hat on. For the above explain, the word that on the frame was
explaining how people will react when they saw a black people with the hat
on, same is hat, why do people have to have different judgment this two
different race of people? The message for the caption is that people should
not have a judgment on people, people are the same, racism needed to stop
in this world.

Therefore, it is obvious that the message of this painting the A Tale of

two Hoodies will be people are trying to convinces people to stop racism
because racism can change to be violence and cause death. This problem is
impotence because if people do not handle this problem and take it seriously
it will lead to many violence and death. So, how can people stop being
racism? To stop it, trying to treat others with respect, and do not judge others
just because they have different colors of skin then you have and trying to
understand others. Stop looking outside of a person, look at the deep inside
of it.
