use one of their words to fill
out the graphic organizer
with little/no help from a
dictionary/teacher.

Presentation (20 minutes):

1. The teacher posts, discusses, and reviews content and language objectives with
students.
2. The teacher will allow the students to create their own list of words, and if possible
provide an antonym and synonym for that word. Students can either use a paper
thesaurus or http://www.thesaurus.com/ to help with any words they are having
issues with.

antonyms and the orange have synonyms. The student with the green star on the card
will begin the game. Students will begin playing with only the yellow cards.

it a sentence, then say, I have ______, who has the antonym of this word?
5. The student with the antonym of that word will say, I have the antonym of that
word which is _____. Now I have _____, who has the antonym of this word?
