The World After World War I

Overall, the first world war left more conflicts in its wake that it solved through fighting.
-Meredyth
After World War One, Europe changed for the worse. World War One made the Europeans angrier at each other and
want more land...Even though Germany was one of the main causes of destruction, they dont deserve to take all
of the blame.
-Sofia
For instance it was good because it shows us that war is horrible and that in the end conflict ends up involving
many more people than needed or intended. But it was also horrible because so many towns and cities were torn
to shreds by the war and women and children were killed for no reason. Worst of all the young men that were sent
to war almost sure to be killed were not much older than you and me are.
-Costas
A lot of really big empires were completely taken apart, this was almost the end of the of Imperialism.
-Ethan
The only thing that really changed after the war was who had what territory, not everything was resolved, which
might be why World War II happened.
-Jane
Countries who were allies with others probably made their bond tighter but countries who were fighting against
each other, probably had even more hatred after the war.
Mass killing of humans never makes it a change for the good.
-Jeff
One of the reasons the peace didn't last was because the allies got cocky. In truth, there was no real winner of
World War 1.
In the years after, it was made obvious Germany should be punished for causing the war and all the damage that
came with it. That seems strange seeing as we just spent 1/3 of a unit learning about all the DIFFERENT causes of
World War 1.
-Ella
One of the worst outcomes was what happened to the people and cities/towns. For many people, the war never
ended. Their homes were destroyed and their friends and family were slaughtered in what could be the worst war
ever (with over 16 million deaths and 21 million wounded).
-Jared

Europe wasnt as powerful after the war ended. Before World War 1, Europe as a whole had many international
nations and territory and they practically had the world wrapped around their finger. But afterwards, other smaller
countries didnt seem to fear them as much.
-Taylor
The European Continent was decimated by the amount of new war technology that came to be used in World War
I. Articles in the Treaty of Versailles were made to try and put Europe back together even though it going to be
Germany who paid. Human nature always demands for someone to blame, and the Europeans pointed their fingers
to Germany.
-Harrison
If you were not allies with a country and you defeated them or they defeated you, you would not be happy. You
would want to keep fight against them until you win or until you get revenge.
-Geoffrey
When the foreign countries saw the condition of the European countries, they took realized it was their time to
take advantage of the continents situation and take back their land.
