Pilbara Foster Carers
Friday 15 May 2015 09:00 to approx. 10:30 am (crche available 8:30-11:00 am)
Pilbara foster carers are needed for our Pilbara kids and you can help! Come have a cuppa and a chat
about caring for our Pilbara kids with Gemma and Hilda from the Department for Child Protection
and Family Support. You may be interested in learning about foster caring or you may know
someone who is everybody is welcome!
Crche is available during this session. Please see details below.
$3 per adult plus crche fees, if needed

Friday Family Fun Craft
Friday 15 May 2015 08:30 to 10:30 am
This is a great fun time for parents/carers to enjoy experiencing different art stations with their
children including colouring, painting and the like with variety weekly.
Please bring along piece of fruit per child to be shared for the childrens morning tea and a water
bottle with the childs name clearly marked on it.
$5 per family

Have You Installed Your Child Care Restraints Correctly?
Friday 15 May 2015 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (running concurrently with Sensory Play session)
Police WA will be available to discuss the appropriate car restraints for the different age groups of
babies and children. They will also be available to check the ones in your car already.

Sensory Play Session for 0-2 y.o.
Friday 15 May 2015 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Sensory play is an interactive way to help babies explore their five senses and develop an awareness
of their surroundings. This is an opportunity for new mothers to also get advice and discuss issues
with other new mothers.
$5 per family

Marking Your Bikes and Scooters for Protection
Friday 15 May 2015 3:30 pm to approx. 4:30 pm
Police WA will be at NNC to mark your bikes and scooters to assist in recovery should they go
missing. Bikes and scooters will be marked with the parent/carers drivers license number so please
be sure to bring this number along. Without this, the process will not be undertaken.

session is for beginners and experienced sewers, quilters, scrapbookers, artists, or any other creative
pursuit to get together and undertake their craft.

Come and enjoy company while learning or practising the craft of your choice. This un-facilitated
session is for beginners and experienced sewers, quilters, scrapbookers, artists, or any other creative
pursuit to get together and undertake their craft.
$3 per person

Twilight Crafts
Sunday 17 May 2015 1:30 to 4:30 pm
Open to everyone whether it is for a coffee and a chat, meet new people, do a craft, or anything you
like.
$3 per person

Pets in the Pilbara: The Good the Bad and the Ugly
Monday 18 May 2015 9:00 to 11:00 am (crche available 8:30-11:30 am)
Dr Lucy van der Weide from Newmans Pets and Vets will share some tips for caring for your family
vet in the Pilbara.
$3 per adult plus crche fees, if needed

Zentangle for you and your child 7 y.o. and over
Monday 18 May 2015 3:30 to 5:00 pm
In this workshop you will create pen-to-paper meditation with your child. Designed for
parents/carers and their children aged 7 and over. This session is run by Paulene Whakaruru, a
Certified Zentangle Teacher 10.
$3 per person
$15 for each kit, if needed

Some First Aid Techniques for Your Family
Incl. a special visit by the Ambulance for the children in crche
Tuesday 19 May 2015 - 08:30 to 11:30 am (crche available 8:30-11:30 am)
St John Ambulance will provide demonstrations in CPR for adults, children and infants including the
recovery position and the opportunity to practise some techniques for emergencies. This workshop
will also include some information about allergies and asthma along with Q&A time.
$3 per adult plus crche fees, if needed

Teaching Child Protective Behaviours for mothers and female carers
Wednesday 20 May 2015 09:00 to 11:00 am (crche available 8:30-11:30 am)
This session will focus on helping you identify some indicators of predatorily and grooming
behaviour and offer suggestions on teaching your child self-protective behaviours. There will be the
opportunity to discuss your concerns and seek solutions.

Wednesday Afternoon Sewing and Patchwork Session (W.A.S.P.S.)
Wednesday 20 May 2015 - 12:00 approx. 4:00 pm
Have a go at creating beautiful, hand craft, perpetual quilts and other treats for your family and
friends. This is an opportunity for beginners and experienced sewing people to get together and
undertake their craft. A sewing machine is available for shared use and certain resources are
available for purchase.
$3 per person

How to Take Better Family Photos
Thursday 21 May 2015 9:00 to 11:00 am (crche available 8:30-11:30 am)
Libby Bennell is a local photographer with a Diploma in Advanced Photography who has worked in
the industry for 15 years. In this workshop, she will provide tips and helpful advice for improving
your family photographic portraits. Feel free to bring along your camera.
$3 per adult plus crche fees, if needed

Enjoy Making Your Own Candles
Thursday 21 May 2015 12:00 to 2:00 pm (crche available, advise when RSVPing)
Shellie will show you how to make candles that can be enjoyed throughout your home. There will be
a demonstration as well as the opportunity to have a go and take your candle home with you.
$3 per adult plus crche fees, if needed

CRCHE SERVICE

Crche is available for normal Monday to Thursday sessions between 8:30 and 11:30 am for children
aged 6 months-6 years. Crche will also be provided this week for the fostering session (until 11 am
only), candle making session (12 to 2 pm only). Parents must remain in the building for the duration
of their childs stay in crche. Please bring along a piece of fruit per child to be shared amongst the
children for morning tea. Please also bring along a water bottle with the childs name clearly marked.
Fee is $5 for the first child and $3 per subsequent child in the same family. Payment required in cash
on the day. Bookings preferred to ensure we have adequate staffing levels. Bookings can be made by
email or phone.


REGULAR TIME OUT SESSIONS

We will be running our normal Time Out sessions Monday to Thursday mornings 8:30 am to 11:30
am. You are welcome to attend even if you choose not to participate in the workshops and sessions.
