Short Reflection 1
Reflection 1.
In Project Media Essay I have chosen Mr. Colion Noir a Gun Enthusiast- son of an
executive chef and registered nurse, graduated high school and Texas Southern University with a
major in political science. For the first Draft I based my argument on the negative comments
Noir received for being black and I counter argued that he succeeds to represent a responsible
image of a responsible legal gun owner because as he promotes self protection. As I re-read the
first Draft I noticed that I focused on summarizing the resources I choose. Though my thesis still
lacked clear statement. On the other hand as I revised my Final Project Media Essay I noticed the
lack of organization which made it extremely difficult to follow. Though this time I required
myself to improve my unorganized ideas. Through this process I began to analyze the resources
and concluded in three essential authors who I disagreed and agreed with. One resource attacking
Mr. Noir based on his ethnicity and two other resources Noirs blog and YouTube channel in
order to create a bigger picture of Noirs effectiveness to the youth. In my final essay I corrected
my common errors of organization my ideas because before I noticed that my ideas were all over
the place and I couldnt even understand what I was trying to say. One of my common errors was
forgetting to include my voice within the essay because I got so caught up on explaining the
counterargument prior to my argument. Though this time powerfully added my opinion and

create a tone that represents an engagement with the audience. Also usually I dont know how to
include the reader within my essay, but I realized that setting the proper confidence and proper
tone I succeed to make an engagement with the reader so that they can also develop their own
point of view. While revising my Final Draft for the portfolio I acknowledged that I intent to
develop a better sense of tone in the message I send. Therefore helping me to better communicate
effectively. Overall according to the comments in my last Project Media Essay I feel like I
satisfied the : organization issues with my writing and with the tons of detailed feedback from
my peers my argument considers the audience which is what I strive for.
