This article talks about makeup and makeup history. It states that; the first
archeological records of clear makeup use come from ancient Egyptian and Sumerian
tombs dating as far back as around 3500 BC. This applied to my research in the way
that it provides information on how far back women started to alter their outward
appearence.

This article discusses the ways the women are perceived in the workforce based on
their looks. This article gave statistics on how woman are affected if they are not
beautiful and if they are plain. This applies to my research because it demonstrates
how physical appearance is shaped by society.

The video addresses the issue of acne in teenagers. However, it focuses mainly on the
appearance of teenage girls. The video talked about the importance of their product to
looking good as one user said: When I have a clear skin I feel that everybody can see
the real me. I applied this to my research because it help prove how the media
influences women since a very young age.

This article talked about how the role of women is used nowadays. This particular
example focuses on beer, its advertisement and how women have an amazing influence
on the sales of the product. It was important to my research because it provided
information about the way the image of the woman is used in the media.

This image demonstrates how far back woman have been used as an advertising
device to lure more men to buy the product. It provide a contrast on how woman were
presented back then and how they are presented today. This image was useful to my
research because it supported other ideas on the same topic.

This video is about how the media makes extreme alteration to woman appearance
particularly the face. This applies to my research because it shows how the woman we
see on advertisement arent real. Creating unattainable standards of beauty that
devalue the importance of natural beauty including the model in the video itself.
