Audience- The group a person or company is reaching out to.
The audience at the school assembly consisted of mostly Seniors.
Ex: children, adults, teens

Brand Awareness- The name a company or person creates for themselves
Everyone knows an Apple product when they see it because of Steve Jobs
outstanding brand awareness.
Ex: the Nike swoosh, McDonald's golden arches

Communication- The exchanging and understanding of messages between
two or more people or things.
Good teamwork starts with communication; you have to talk to understand
each other.
Ex: talking, sign language, text messaging

Data- Saved memory to a storage device.
My cell phone is running out of data because I take so many photos.
Ex: iCloud storage, GB

Enunciation- Pronouncing your words clearly so that the listener can
understand.
My Spanish teacher makes sure to practice her English enunciation so we
understand her more.
Ex: pronouncing syllables

Floppy Disk- A removable storage disk
I saved my project on my floppy disk.

Gigabyte- 1024 megabytes
My phone came with 16 gigabytes of memory when I bought it.

Hardware- Internal and External parts of a machine or computer
My uncle usually fixes my hardware when I break it.

Certain pages require JavaScript to read the content.

Keyboard-Used to import text or content onto the Monitor
I learned to type by learning they keys on the keyboard.
Ex: none

Lagging- when computer connection is slow and glitches.
I couldnt Skype with my friend due to the lagging.
Ex: screen jittering

Malware- Programs intended to damage computers
I took my computer to get rid of the malware.
Ex: Virus, Trojan

Network- A system of connected computers that send and receive data.
Computers in school are under the same network.
Ex: The World Wide Web, the Internet

Offline- State of computer devices that are neither turned on nor connected
We couldnt access the Internet because the servers were offline.
Ex: No Wifi

Pronunciation-the way in which a word is pronounced.
Everyone sounds and talks different, therefore the pronunciation wouldnt be
the same.
Ex: Different tone, pitch, accent

QWERTY- Denotes standard keyboard because Q,W,E,R,T,Y keys are side
by side in the upper left row
The keyboarding practice required us to use the QWERTY method.

Reboot- to restart
My computer automatically reboots when I update it.

Software-A code or program that is read by computer
My computers software requires an update before I can access the new
features.
Ex: IOS.8

Troubleshoot- To fix a problem with technology
I attempted to troubleshoot my laptop by restarting it.
Ex: Unplugging a mouse and plugging it back in.

Upload-To transfer files from local computer to web server/network
I'm going to upload some pictures to my Facebook after school.
Ex: posting pictures, videos

Virus- A code or program designed to replicate and damage computers
I get frequent popups because my computer has a virus.
Ex: Pop ups

World Wide Web- an information system on the Internet that allows
documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links
We watch videos in which we access from the World Wide Web.

X2- Technology to send higher data rates on old phone systems
They often use X2 to communicate using old phones still.
Ex: payphones

Zipping-Compressing files to save space
I zipped the files on my computer because I was running out of data space.
Ex: save as
