Re: 10 Things Memo AFT
10 THINGS MEMO
In Bus 300 we have learned an eclectic set of skills that can enhance
not only our job seeking but also our professional performance. The
most important aspects are listed below:
1. Create Graphics: Software such as Piktochart are free
interphases which allow an individual to create their own
InfoGraphics for visual aid for a presentation
2. Use of Direct vs. Indirect: Direct approaches in business
should be used when something requires immediate reaction,
while indirect uses a buffer as to soften news.
3. Top Grammar Tips: avoid verbal static and expletives or a word
or a phrase used to fill out a sentence or line without adding to the
sense.

4. Tips for Networking: personal networking is the most

important tool in business, always have a prepared elevator pitch
in order to impress quickly and gain opportunities.
5. Soft Skills: employers desire soft skills: leadership, problem
solving, communication, teamwork and work ethic
6. Tips for Global Communication: before conducting business
with another country be sure to understand language, culture,
context differences.
7. Email Tips: Always start message with a greeting followed by
concise and organized message that is better received when
segmented by bullet points, avoid gender specific pronouns and
be sure to include contact information.
8. Body Language: in business transactions or interviews it is
essential to maintain good posture, eye contact, confidence, and
contain extremities such as flailing arms.
9. Principal of Transferable Skill: it is important to connect past
experiences with your transferable skills, or skills developed in
some way that are applicable to job.
10.
Illegal Questions: questions an interviewer may not ask
as it does not pertain to the job, such as race, religion, sexual
preference, ect.
The aforementioned are some of the most important topics we covered
in Bus 300, for any further clarifications please do not hesitate to
