Re: 10 Things Memo AFT 10 THINGS MEMO In Bus 300 we have learned an eclectic set of skills that can enhance not only our job seeking but also our professional performance. The most important aspects are listed below: 1. Create Graphics: Software such as Piktochart are free interphases which allow an individual to create their own InfoGraphics for visual aid for a presentation 2. Use of Direct vs. Indirect: Direct approaches in business should be used when something requires immediate reaction, while indirect uses a buffer as to soften news. 3. Top Grammar Tips: avoid verbal static and expletives or a word or a phrase used to fill out a sentence or line without adding to the sense.
4. Tips for Networking: personal networking is the most
important tool in business, always have a prepared elevator pitch in order to impress quickly and gain opportunities. 5. Soft Skills: employers desire soft skills: leadership, problem solving, communication, teamwork and work ethic 6. Tips for Global Communication: before conducting business with another country be sure to understand language, culture, context differences. 7. Email Tips: Always start message with a greeting followed by concise and organized message that is better received when segmented by bullet points, avoid gender specific pronouns and be sure to include contact information. 8. Body Language: in business transactions or interviews it is essential to maintain good posture, eye contact, confidence, and contain extremities such as flailing arms. 9. Principal of Transferable Skill: it is important to connect past experiences with your transferable skills, or skills developed in some way that are applicable to job. 10. Illegal Questions: questions an interviewer may not ask as it does not pertain to the job, such as race, religion, sexual preference, ect.
