About Abortion
Abortion should not be legal just because you just simply dont want the child should be
used only for certian curcimstances like a raped woman. Abortion is not killing a baby, abortion
is the medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby. So really
all it is doing is interrupting the pregnacy process. Abortions are mostly used by young adults
that have made a mistake in getting pregnat. 50% of abortions are performed on women less
than 25 years of age. They are trying to prove that abortion should be illegal in cases that are not
dealing with rape or harm. The pregancy has to be atleast 14 weeks along, after 14 weeks
surgical abortions are performed by a dilatation and evacuation procedure. They use almost like a
vaccum and it just sucks the fertilized egg out. Abortions have been very popular sense the late
1900s. There have been more than 53 million abortions performed in the United States since
Roe v. Wade was decided back in 1973. Statistics show that most women receiving abortion
83% are unmarried. Women that are single separated, divorced, or widowed take up abround
16% of Abortions. About 60% of abortion are taken up by women who have one or more
children.
Those are a lot of children that never made it into this world, but if the parents wouldnt /
couldnt have taken care of them it was better off to abort the child. Doctors also use abortion
for if something is wrong with the pregnacy or if it is going to hurt the mama to have the child.

If the doctors told someone that the baby would not be able to do anything ever in its life isnt it
better to abort that child rather than have a child that cant talk or move for the rest of its life.
The product of conception is alive and undeniably made up of living cells and after an abortion
the form those cells take are dead. Any living thing will die when removed from its source of
sustenance and that by any definition is killing. Abortion kills the potentional for a fetus to fully
develop but that is not murder because it is not killing an actual human being. Many people
believe that abortion is the samething as killing a human being, but it cant be even closely
considered as the same because if you took the fetus out of the mother it wouldnt be able to
survive so there for it isnt living. Among married women there were eight abortions for every
ninety births. Among unmarried women there were forty-eight abortions for every forty five
births. Emergency medical personnel could be prosecuted for transporting a young woman
across state lines to the closest abortions provider even if the abortion wasnt necessary to save
her from physical harm. Most states if the woman is under the age of 18 they have to have
parental consint for the abortion, most of the time parents can help persaude the womans mind to
the right direction. In 1997 the NNAF provided $1 million to help finance 15,000 abortions. 29
states now require minors to notify or get parental or judicial consent for an abortion. recent data
indicates a baby has an 83% survival rate at 24 weeks and an 89% survival rate at 25 weeks. The
effects of having an abortion can last up to 18 months. The long term effects from an abortion
are terrible if a woman has to many abortions it can make her unfertile. 43 percent of american
women will have at least one abortion by the time they turn 45 years old. States reported 1.21
million abortions clinics to the Centers for Disease control and prevention in 1995. Some

abortion clinics were trying to use cheap methods of abortion so they could clear a bigger profit,
and it was very unsanitary, sometimes tools and tables were not being cleaned like they should
have been and could have spreaded dieases. The good thing about abortion is it is a painless way
to interrupet the pregnacy. Abortion makes no pain to the mother or the child which is a good
thing. Abortion is a good thing in some cases for example a lady has been raped and doesnt want
the child, it would be better off for the child to be aborted before it is considered a human life.
For another example if the parents are not in the position for a child and would not be able to
support the child it would be better off for the child to be aborted. Between 1973 and 1977 the
federal government paid for about one third of all abortions. 1922 Medicaid paid for only 267
abortions. In 1978 fewer than 2,500 abortions were covered by federal Medicaid funds. The
abortion rate has dropped by 19 percent. People are starting to realize how bad abortions are for
your body. And also the rape crimes are going down in the US. In 1944 there were a record four
murders and eight attempted murders. more than half of the estimated 1,500 us clinics
experienced either deaths stalkings bombings invasions arson or blockades in the for several
months of 1944. In recent years only about 15 percent of americans have thought that abortion
under all circumstances should be made illegal. Alot of americans are highly against abortion,
some of them would change their opinion if they are someone related or close to them was raped
or had a child that the doctors said the child would be a very bad of mentaly handicapped kid for
the rest of its life. Abortions should not be just for anyone to use at anytime they want to there
should be very strict resrictions and laws on who and when abortions can be used. Ever since
abortion was legalized by the supreme court in 1973 in its landmark decision abortion opponents
have tried to restrict to procedure or overturn the ruling. Surpreme court has been harassed ever

sense they past the bill for abortion so many people were against abortion but not so much now.
the declining availability of abortion services-combined with the murders of abortion clinic
workers and the damage to clinics has compelled many abortion rights activists to blame the
anti-abortion movement as a whole. In recent years only about 15 percent of americans have
thought that abortion under all circumstances should be made illegal. Since 1977 there have been
40 bombings and 92 cases of arson according to the national abortion federation. People are so
against abortion they are taking this to the extreme of murder and bombing, anyone who wants to
face criminal charges for their beliefs are pretty upset. Abortion should be illegal for recreational
use but it should be legal for a mother that the pregnacy would hurt her are the child. Also should
be legal for someone who is carrying a child that would be handicaped for its life and would
never be able to do anything talk, speak, walk, or even live past a few years old it would be
better off for that child even the family to abort the child before it is even considered a living
human being. Abortion is not the right answer to just get out of a mistake that you made when
you were young and dumb, that isnt the answer for that you should have to deal with the
consequiences. There are some exceptions if a teenager gets pregnat she is probaly not able to
take care of the baby like she should be able to and it could ruin the teenagers life. It would be
hard for the to finsh getting a good education homelife for the child wouldnt be great and more
than likely the parents will not stay together in the long run. Abortions are used alot of times
when teenagers are scared to tell their parents about their pregnacy, or if their parents told the
two not to be together and they do anyway. People have abortions for many different reason and
for a lot of wrong reasons. In all of this what is trying to be proved is that abortion can be
helpful in some situations and sometimes a abortion would be the best decsion, but abortion

should not be for someone to use just to get them out of a mistake they made one night they were
at a party and made a mistake.
