Provisions for Individual and/or Group Differences:
Each person will have their own different version of the map because I have giving
them creative control to have their map be gerrymandered anyway that they want to.
Closure:
I will give them a ticket to leave I will do the 3 2 1 activity. They will write 3 things
that they learned. Answer the two questions What is Gerrymandering? and What
determines the amount of districts a state has? They will also write one thing that
they would like to learn more about. (10 Min)
Evaluation of Learning:
I will put a map on a future test to make sure that the students can create a map with
previsions that I give them. One of the previsions is that they will have to
gerrymander the map to where one of the two political parties will have more power
than the other.
Independent Practice:
I will give them homework by a blank map of the districts of Indiana. What they have
to do is number the districts and find the name of the congressman or women of that
particular district and what party they are a member of. For people who did not quite
get it I we give them an example of a correctly drawn map and have then read over it
and then recreate the map so they can obtain a better understanding of the concepts.

For the students who do understand the concept I will have them look up an article on
how Gerrymander can effect American politics.
