What Worked Well

What Didnt Work Well

What I Learned

This was my first time creating a design based on

someone elses personal life
and It was more fun than I
thought. The ideas for the
design were so many that it
just started flowing with any
problems, but this final design I think worked the best.
The design reflects Sean
Emerys perspective of life.
Sean is a humble person who
greatly appreciate what our
mother nature provides. He
loves music, art and loves his
family.

Editing the photo under

illustrator was not completely satisfying for me. I used
the pen tool to crop Seans
image out of the original photo, so Im not quite satisfied
with the result. If I can do it
all over again, I will try other
ways to crop the photo to
create a better one.

I learned the most design

students have so much
things in common. Seans
attitude towards life is quite
similar to mine: enjoy it, respect it, love it.
I also learned that it is easier
and its a lot of fun to crreate
a design based on someone
elses personality.

problem statement

goal

deliverable

creative work reaches deep into

our intuitive and unconscious
minds, into our hearts and feelings.
the sea change design process
helped to define your calling.

visualize highly abstract ideas

that source from your growing
awareness of the deeper aspects
of yourself,
by exploring design elements,
typography and diverse processes.

DESIGN A POSTER CALENDAR

FOR THE YEAR 2015

now you will examine the ways in

which this abstract idea can be
interpreted and represented in
visual
form, offering clarity, embedded
meaning and understanding to the
viewer.
stay away from literal translation
and use metaphors and story
telling for your design.

visualize your calling and its

embedded meaning, in your own
personal voice by exploring diverse
processes and techniques:
eg drawing, photography,
xerography, abstraction,
typography, collage, textures,
sculpture, different types of
materials: paper, fabric, vellum,
cardboard, metal, wood, foil
size: 22x28 min. final size
color: 4cp
content:
. main level of information:
your calling (you can add your
embedded meaning as secondary
level info)
. secondary level of information:
2015 , all 12 months of the year
(keep it to less than 1/4 of the
format)

What Worked Well

What Didnt Work

What I Learned

Methaporically, using the

dandelion flowers as a symbol for self-compassion fits
well with the design I intended to create. The idea of
understanding other people
because youve learned to
understand and love yourself, could spread around the
world, just like the dandelion
flowers that spread naturally
through the air. I think the
design and concept work
really well.

One thing I want to change is

the color of the background.
They looked fine from the
computer screen, but after
printing lots details from the
background disappeared.
I figure if i changed background to less solid color, the
missing details would pop up.

Being able to grasp the concept of what you are intending to design can save you
some plenty of time of work,
is what Ive learned from this
project. Since I already knew
exactly what I wanted to,
all I had to work on was the
aesthetic of the design.

Project 3 | Analysis

What Worked Well

What Didnt Work

What I Learned

The concept we came up with

as a group, is very unique. I
think the idea of exchanging
places with those people who
suffered from water scarcity, is
one the most effective way to
to let people understand the
true value of water. One can
never understand its true
value unless he or she experience walking many miles
every day just to collect some
water from a dirty stream, so
I think this idea works really
well for this project.

On my part, I believe the color choices of the background

of the brochure were too
vivid. They seem to stand out
and interrupts the color flow
of the entire design. I would
change the background into
more subtle colors, such as
light blue or light green and I
would get rid of the grey color and use white instead.

I learned that no matter the

situation, working in group is
both fun and challenging. We
had several miscommunication, due to our hectic schedule, but at the end of the day
we managed to take care of
whats needed to be done.
