    Ibelievepeopleshouldhavethetruefreedomtoexpresstheiropinion.Everybodyhas
    differentopinionsandIthinkitfallsunderthecategoryoffreedomofspeechinthatpeople
    shouldhavetherighttoexpressthosedifferentopinions.Weliveinaworldwithmanydifferent
    cultures,religions,philosophies,andpoliticsamongothersubjectsthatpeoplecanhavea
    differentopinionon.Peopleshouldfreelyexpresstheiropinionsaslongasitdoesntharmothers
    inathreateningway.Thisworldisfullofsomanyideas,andIthinkitisimportantforpeopleto
    expresstheseideasintheformofopinions.ThisisapersonalfreedomthatIbelieveeveryone
    shouldbeabletohaveastherearestillsomeplacesthatpersecutepeopleforexpressingtheir
    opinions,andIbelievethatshouldcometoanend.
    Ithinkthatmanypeopletaketheirfreedomofspeechforgranted.Therearestill
    placesacrosstheworldthatdonotallowpeopletofreelyexpresstheiropinion,andIbelievethat
    isaseriousmisfortunetosociety.AnexampleisthecountryofNorthKoreaandhowthat
    particularcountryisheavilycensoredbecauseofitsstrictgovernment,andunfortunatelythey
    arenottheonlycountrythatpersecutespeoplesopinions.Thetruefreedomtoexpressones
    opinionvariesfromhavingnofreedomatallsuchascountrieslikeNorthKoreatohavingthe
    freedomtogiveanopinionbutthenbeingheavilycriticizedandattackedbecauseofit.A
    positiveexamplethoughofhavingthefreedomtoexpressopinionswouldbefromafieldtrip

    duringhighschool.MyjunioryearagroupfromschoolwenttotheSchoolofMathandScience
    toanethicalleadershipconference.Weallattendeddifferentsessionsthatdiscusseddifferent
    controversialtopicssuchasabortion,gayrights,andreligiousfreedom.Iwasrelievedthat
    duringthesediscussionsstudentswereabletofreelyexpresstheiropinionsonthetopicwithout
    beingridiculedorwithouthavingrestrictionsagainstwhattheywantedtoexpress.Ithinkthis
    shouldbeanoccurrenceeverywhereandnotjustinschoolsbutinotherenvironmentsandin
    differentcountries.Freedomofspeechisveryimportantandpeopleshouldrememberthisbefore
    theytrytoshutdownothersopinions.
    Ithinkmanypeople,especiallyinthiscountry,takefreedomofspeechandbeing
    abletoexpresstheiropinionforgranted.Iseecountlessopinionsthrownoutineverydaylife
    suchasinclassoronsocialmedia,andIbelievethisisarightsolongasnoharmisbeingdone.
    EventhoughIseemanynegativeopinions,peoplestillshouldhavethefreedomtorevealtheir
    thoughtsandopinions.Manypeoplecriticizethepresidentandthegovernmentwhichisallowed
    inthiscountry,butinotherareasoftheworldpeoplecouldbepunishedorevenputtodeathfor
    criticizingtheirgovernment.Havingseennewsstoriesthatrelatestome,ithaschangedme
    becauseIseehowimportantitistohaveanopinionandexpressitwhetheritspositiveor
    negative.Ittroublesmetoknowthataroundtheworldexpressedopinionsarenotrecognizedor
    allowed,andIbelievethisimpedessociety.Ithinkthatmorepeopleshouldrecognizethisfact
    anddomoretohelpprogresssocietybyallowingthetruefreedomofexpressingonesopinion.
    Itisimportantforpeopletorealizehowopinionsandfreedomofspeecharesoessential.
    Ithinkmanypeopleespeciallyinthecountryoverlookthisbecauseweareusetoit,butthis
    freedomisstillnotperfect.Otherareasaroundalsohavelessfreedomthanwedoinourcountry

    whichiswhymybeliefshouldbeacknowledgedandotherpeopleshouldspeakupaboutit,too.
    Thisisworldisfilledwithuniquepeoplewhohaveuniquethoughtswhichshouldalwaysbe
    abledtobeexpressedaslongasnoharmisdone.
