ACCREDITATION
Hiram College, established in 1850, is fully accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Universities.
CALENDAR
Hiram College operated on the semester system until Fall 1961. From
September 1961 to August 1995, Hiram operated on a quarter calendar.
Beginning August 24, 1995, Hiram converted to the semester system.
GRADE POINT AVERAGE
The grade point average (GPA) is determined by dividing the total number
of grade points earned (credit hours multiplied by the points for the grade
awarded for each class) by the total number of graded hours attempted.
Transfer credit is not included in the grade point average.
REPEATED COURSES
When a course is repeated, only the hours and quality points for the last
time the course was taken are calculated in the grade point average
(GPA). Repeated courses noted with the letter E in the column next to the
points indicates that the grade has been excluded from the calculation of
the GPA and the letter I in the column indicates that the grade has been
included in the GPA calculation.
