ELABORACIN DE UN COMENTARIO DE TEXTO SOBRE CULTURA E HISTORIA
DE GRAN BRETAA E IRLANDA, a elegir entre los textos que facilitar el Equipo
Docente en el Curso Virtual.
Tarea para la PEC del segundo semestre (la fecha de entrega y las instrucciones especficas
se anunciarn en el Curso Virtual):
ELABORACIN DE UN COMENTARIO DE TEXTO SOBRE CULTURA E HISTORIA
DE LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS, a elegir entre los que documentos que facilitar el Equipo
Docente en el Curso Virtual.
Lase el texto varias veces, al menos tres. Una buena lectura es la base para un buen
comentario.
Subryese las ideas o temas principales del texto con distintos colores.

Utilcese algunos smbolos propios para remarcar las nociones ms importantes, para no
olvidar incluirlas en el comentario.
Hgase un esquema de la clasificacin del texto que introduzca las ideas o temas bsicos
relacionndolos entre s.
Se debe ser cuidadoso con la redaccin, presentacin, ortografa y trminos empleados para
que se comprenda con facilidad lo que queremos expresar.
Los ttulos de las pautas que se recomiendan para hacer un comentario no deben aparecer
en el comentario que hagamos.

Glossary of Historical and Cultural Terms referred to the Anglophone World
Abolitionism: A movement to end the slave trade and emancipate slaves in Western Europe and
the Americas.
Albion: This is the oldest known name of the island of Great Britain. Today, it is still sometimes
used poetically to refer to the island.
Anglo Saxon Chronicle: It is a collection of annals in Old English chronicling the history of the
Anglo-Saxons. The annals were created in the 9th century during the reign of Alfred the Great.
Apprentice Boys: Protestant defenders of Derry, slammed the town gates shut when Jacobite
forces approached in 1688.
Arminianism: A school of esotericism within Protestant Christianity based on the theological
ideas of the Dutch Reformed theologian Jacobus Arminius (1560-1609).
Axis: The Fascist and imperialist powers in World War II
Black Cabinet: Group of black public figures, both in and outside the federal government, who
advised Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt during the New Deal
