Truth is a very difficult topic to explain or simplify in to one easy

answer. The deeper that I look into the meaning of truth, the more I
understand what I believe truth means. Also hearing what other highly
educated people say and believe about what the meaning of truth is, it is a
great help to understand what truth means to me. This can help me because
I can read what they say about truth and I might agree with them, or I
might disagree with what they say. It helps me because it gets me thinking
more of what I truly believe about what the meaning of truth really is for
myself.
The best place that I found that had the best answers to what truth is,
was the bible. These are some of my favorite verses from the bible that
answer what truth is. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the
promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we
acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory (Ephesians 1:13-14). To
me this means Gods word is truth. That he is truthful when he says that the
gospel is our salvation, and that we are saved with him.
Another great verse is And they sent their disciples to him, along with
the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the
way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyones opinion, for you
are not swayed by appearances (Matthew 22:16). This shows that the
disciples trusted Jesus completely to teach them what to believe in, to be

saved. To me that shows that we need to trust in him completely to be saved

also.
Another verse from the bible is For I have given them the words that
you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth
that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me (John 17:8).
To me this means that Jesus has spread the word of God to others like the
disciples, and they have seen that Gods word is the truth and believe in
that. I think that we should do the same and believe in Gods word, and
know that it is the truth. Gods word is really the only truth we need in or
lives and he will take care of all other things we need in life to live. I think
that all of these verses show exactly what truth is. The bible shows us that
truth is simple, truth is believing and trusting in something or someone and
that is really all there is to it. God shows us that truth can be so simple
sometimes.
Through my literature review I felt that I didnt really learn anything
new about truth. I just deepened my understanding of what I believe truth is
to me. Although I did learn a lot about my three philosophers Lama
Anagarika Govinda, Karl Popper, Francis Herbert Bradley, I learned like who
they were and where they came from, and why they believe in what they do.
This helped me understand that I believe truth is simple, and that truth to
me is like a fact. There is one answer and no other way it can be taken.
Truth is not misleading, it is honest. I think that truth is a natural thing to

us. It cannot be tested or made into a mathematical equation. Truth cannot

be scientifically explained, it is not something man can recreate. It is
something that is just inside a person.
I did learn a lot historically about who my three people were, like
where they lived and what happened during their lives to make them who
they were. One of my philosophers was Lama Anagarika Govinda and he
lived in Austria during World War 2 until he was forced to leave. To me this is
so cool to learn what he had to go through to become the man he was later,
and why he thinks the way he does.
I think truth is so hard to just explain because we all try to over think
the meaning of truth. If we all just think of truth as a simple thing, it will be
easier to answer. Truth to me is just simply a fact to something that does not
have a misleading way behind it to confuse you. Truth is honest. With truth
you also need trust to fully believe in something that you think is the truth. I
believe that if we trust in what we believe in we can find the truth in
anything and know that we are not being misguided. I still feel that the bible
is the best thing to turn to for the answers about truth.
