Third Goal:

I will improve my planning for the lessons by changing it according to the students
needs and my teachers feedback during year 4, semester 1 and I will compare it to
the previous semester (level 6).
Objectives

I chose this goal because I aimed to:

-

Improve my ability to create an effective lesson plans.

Hear expertise peoples opinions about my lesson and gain some advises in
order to improve my planning.

To prepare lessons that suits the students abilities and interests.

Gain better knowledge of how to manage and monitor the activities.

local and global professional community.

Implementation Strategies

Ask my MCT for feedback on sequences lessons.

Ask my peers and MST to evaluate my activities and how well does it fit
into the lesson.

Compare between two lesson plan and MCT report before and after giving
feedback.
Evidence

(See Appendix 2), Still under the process.

Resources

Appendix 2

I got this feedback from my previous TP observation:

FEEDBACK
Description of lesson
Azza started the lesson by recapping some definitions from previous work. Then
making use of pictures Azza elicited the concept of levers, which students were then
asked to create the three different types of levers using a pack of materials they
were given. In this stage Azza was actively monitoring student progress. In the
feedback stage Azza help clarify concepts using visuals on the projector. Students
were then asked to work in groups again to identify examples of the different types
of levers. When feedback had been done Azza then asked the students with the help
of a very useful text to answer questions related to pulleys. Feedback followed this
as a class.

Strengths

It was good to see Azza grounding the concepts in the real world using visuals and realia. Her
lesson moved from concrete to more abstract concepts.

Students had lots of opportunity to work in groups and Azza spend a significant amount of time
monitoring

She displayed an awareness of where this lesson stood in the progression of lessons over the
week.

Azzas monitoring and interaction with students is confident, and pleasant.

Suggestions

In the feedback we focused on:

The need to make sure concepts are covered accurately and clearly.

We also spoke about the need to do some language work with the concepts, so that students can not
only improve their language skills, but also deepen their knowledge of the concepts taught. We looked at
different options for this from reading activities involving students reading and visually depicting the
concepts, as well as focusing on lanauge that students need to discuss the topic as well as connect ideas.

Personal Aim for next lesson

-

Use some activities that related to the literacy.

I followed the suggestions and I got this another feedback:

Description of lesson
Azza started the lesson by reviewing some vocabulary items and getting students to
remember what they had covered in previous classes relevant to this lessons theme.
She then had students in groups working with various resources in order to find out
about either screws or wedges, as devices. Students for the most part spent 20
minutes actively engaged in this activity. Azza was available to students during this
stage. When students had done this Azza asked individual students to present their
findings at the front of the class for their group.

Strengths

Azzas choice to get students working in groups was a good way of making this lesson more
student centred.

It was nice to see students using different sources and resources to find the information
required to do the set tasks.

Suggestions

In the feedback we focused on:

The need to make sure students have enough support when working on an extended task like this one.
We spoke about giving them an example text which they would be expected to produce, so that they
knew the depth of information asked for.

We also spoke about different options of doing feedback. Specifically this could involve group
spokespeople to feedback to smaller groups in turn, instead of doing whole class feedback.

Personal Aim for next lesson

In case I give the students reading task, I have to prepare worksheet that should be answered
via their understanding. By this way, Ill make the text more useful for the learning.
