DR.ME is a creative studio based in Manchester, est. 2010. DR.ME is and Ryan Doyle (DR)
& Mark Edwards (ME). The duo hosted a workshop where designers had to take on a three
briefs, influenced by their methods of design which is heavily collage and image based.

3. Create a piece of work to no brief and for no reason other than the process of
creativity and artistic freedom. The only rules are it must be a 2D physical object and
must be 23cm x 16cm. Be brave.

Studio Brief

Deliverables

1.To design album art work for Evian Christ for the single duga3, taking influence from the
song and the context of its name.

2. To design a gig poster for Odonis Odonis for an event at Krakk Gallery in Manchester, using
the information on the event provided and sourcing influence from the band, the music and
their visual presence.

Aesthetic

Album artwork influenced by the sound track Duga 3 by Evian Christ, which has an
electronic and alternative sound. Duga 3 is Soviet radar system used as part of the Soviet
ABM early-warning network.

The abstract design was influenced by the idea of manipulation and an unclear state of
mind, which is represented through the psychedelic, marbling texture.

Odonis Odonis Gig Poster

Aesthetic

A gig poster design for music band Odonis Odonis specialising in an industrial surf graze
genre.

The poster was designed to create a Kaleidoscopic style poster as this was prevalent
throughout the bands music video visuals. Using press shots the pattern replicates
a kaleidoscope using a small geometric collage. The type is arranged by hierarchy of
importance.

Self Initiated Poster

Aesthetic

The self initiated design is a typographic poster of Jimi Hendrix and a quote about his
thoughts on music.

The design was influenced by a old school 60s letter, using hand rendered type and
imagery of the artist to create a typographic quote design.
