A. Personal Statement
I completed an associate degree in dental hygiene at Foothill College in 2014. Foothill's Dental Hygiene
program is a rigorous and well-known program among our community. My educational background prior to
dental hygiene is a degree in Biochemistry from Notre Dame de Namur University. I have always felt that the
health care field has been a calling, specifically oral health. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Dental
Hygiene because my passion for dental hygiene has incredibly grown. I could not be happier with continuing
my career in dental hygiene.
My Purpose is to pursue a career that involved the application of science, but that would also accord with
providing patient care. Dental hygiene is an ever growing sector that is constantly advancing in treatment and
patient care. The opportunities are endless, and I look forward to being part of the specialization, and the
advancements that are occurring in our field. I have had the opportunity to work in private practice but I wish to
continue my dedication for dental hygiene in other sectors. My passion for the dental hygiene profession
continues to grow and to assist with the expansion in research, education, public health and in clinical
products.
