A great man once remarked that "imagination is more important than knowledge" john sutter: imagination has benefited humanity by inventing revolutionary items. Sutter says without imagination, humans would've never been able to explore beyond our atmosphere. He says imagination can alter society's view on subjects, such as the standard of beauty.

A great man once remarked that Imagination is more
important than knowledge. To some skeptics, they may believe whoever said that is an idiot, but believe it or not, it was Albert Einstein! Would you agree with the genius scientist, that imagination reigns supreme over knowledge? I agree with Einsteins quote because I think that imagination has benefited humanity by inventing revolutionary items, and it even changed society as a whole. Imagination has virtually created everything created by man as a whole. Two brothers filled to the brim with it had decided that theyll make one of humanitys long-term dreams come true; the ability to fly. Over a span of approximately 5 years, they conducted tests and made prototypes, learning from their past faults how to improve their machine. Finally, on December 17, 1903, the brothers, Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright, had successfully created the first powered aircraft. It brought on the age of flight. Decades later, humanity decided to go further than just the sky, we wanted to explore beyond our atmosphere. We decided to embark on a visit to our natural satellite, the Moon. The two superpowers at the time, the United States of America and the Soviet Union (Russia) both were competing to see which nation could claim to be the first on the Moon. Scientists from the countries were both trying to imagine the perfect spacecraft which could successfully deliver human life without casualty. In 1969, the American spacecraft, Apollo 11, carrying three astronauts, two of which got out and were able to walk explore, firmly printing humanitys presence on the surface of our satellite. Without imagination, humans wouldve never even been able to think about breaking out of our boundaries, seeing the stars from an even higher altitude at a personal level, and reaching the space beyond. The next reason Id prioritize imagination over knowledge, is that it can alter societys view on subjects, such as the standard
of beauty is. Using the internet and television as a medium,
trends now can spread ever a larger radius as to what it was before, when trends could spread generally over a small town, perhaps even a county. People imagine new forms of music, fashion, and even new words! They spread usually on the internet, and it becomes so well-known, that theyll eventually become something socially acceptable. For example, over the past few years, a new look/personality has appeared. You may have heard of a clique that consider themselves Hipsters. Theyll typically be stereotyped as wearing beanies, hats, scarves, and old-fashioned glasses. Just a few decades ago, that type of look would be considered repulsive! This is a prime example as to what imagination can do to society. In conclusion, Einsteins quote is correct in my eyes, as imagination is the fuel that lets inventors invent, and it changed our society. Everywhere you go, youll never see anything thats not connected to imagination.
