NANOpure Low Purity System Checks:

1. Open the front door of the Nanopure and examine the cartridge pack. Note the
cartridge catalog number, lot code, and expiration date. If the cartridge has been
installed longer than one year, consider replacing the cartridge pack first. If the
cartridge has a noticeable gap at the top (like it is not completely filled with filter
material), this is a sign of cartridge exhaustion.
2. Measure the flow rate from the main delivery knob on top of the unit. You should be
able to dispense approximately 1.5 liters per minute. If you are getting significantly
less than this, open the right side door by turning the screw on the door (the door
should then swing open). Place your hand on the pump or listen for vibration (the
pump should be on/vibrating whenever the purity is displayed on the screen). If the
pump is not running, locate a screwdriver, grab it by the blade, and tap repeatedly on
the pump. The pump may start running again. If the pump does not continue to run,
order a new pump, part number PU1190X1. If the pump is running and the flow is
still low, check the following:
a. Ensure feed water is of adequate pressure (Gravity feed 100 psi
is acceptable, 30-50 psi is ideal)
b. Ensure no other filters are clogged (0.2 micron final filter or
Ultrafilter)
c. Ensure there are no kinks or clogs in the tubing or other
component (most notably the pressure regulator)
3. Purchase a NIST calibration module, part number E896X5. After you receive the
module, first perform a calibration per the users manual. Then, leaving the module
attached, press start on the display, and note the purity value. With the module
plugged in, the display should read 15.0 Mohm-cm. If it does read 15.0 (+/- 0.3
Mohm), your boards are reading the purity properly. If it does not read 15.0 when
plugged into J2 of the calibration board, try plugging the module into P2 of the meter
board (slightly larger board, also mounted on the side door of the Nanopure). If the
reading does change to 15.0 when plugged into P2, the calibration board is bad. If it
does not change to 15.0 when plugged into P2, the meter board is most likely bad.
