Grade 2 Weekly Update

This week we.

Next week we will

Math: We looked at symmetry and congruency in

shapes.
Language: We began reading and writing poetry!
We looked at a variety of poems and had a
chance to write our own sense poems and Haikus!
Unit of Inquiry: We looked at a variety of
different types of art and shared our
perspectives. We formulated different and
similar opinions on art and the purpose the
artist had for creating it. We discussed artist
viewpoint and why people have different ways
of expressing themselves.

Math: We will begin our revision unit. The first

thing we will be revising is money!
Language: We will begin to write rhyming poems!
Unit of Inquiry: We will be diving into abstract art!
We are excited to be looking at this type of more
interesting art and having the students interpret it
in their own unique way. Students will have the
opportunity to make their own abstract art too!
** There will be distributions to normal lessons due
to MAP testing! **

Please dont forget that

all students need their
swimming gear on Sunday
June 4th for the GIS
swimming Gala

Please ensure your child has a big

and healthy breakfast and goes to
bed early for Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday so they are focused
during MAP TESTING
