Introduction
Crosswind is any wind that has a perpendicular
component to the direction of travel. Crosswind
as the secondary effect of the move on the road
in the open areas represents a significant risk for
vehicles. The situation occurs when the impact of
crosswinds causes the vehicle to deviate from a
straight line or simply rolls over.

Objective
To study the characteristics of flow over
an elongated vehicle under the effect of
crosswinds.
To study the influence of the elongated
vehicle geometry on the flow structure
over the elongated vehicle

Methodology
Simulations will be done using OpenFOAM,
an open source CFD software
Analysis will be done using Matlab

Expected results
To have a better knowledge about the
aerodynamic behavior of elongated
vehicles.
To gather data for aerodynamic
characteristics and identify the most
suitable geometry for elongated vehicles.

Conclusion
I hope that I can understand the
characteristics of flow over an
elongated vehicle under the effect of
crosswinds.
To understand the influence of the
elongated vehicle geometry on the
flow structure over the elongated
vehicle
